The 2-Port USB 2.0 Auto Sharing Switch from Aluratek is a compact device that facilitates USB device sharing between two computers. A physical switch is present to toggle between either connected computer, eliminating any software requirements. Software switching is possible on Windows-based systems via the included software.
- USB Device Sharing
- The switch features two type "B" USB ports for connection to computers. It features a single USB type "A" port for device connectivity. This configuration allows you to share USB devices between two computers, a feature that standard USB hubs don't support.
- Windows Software
- Although the switch can function on any operating system via the physical toggle button, software for Windows is included for your convenience. The Windows software eliminates the need to manually switch the device when sending data to a printer.
- Bus-Powered
- The switch receives power from the USB bus; there is no need for a bulky AC adapter.

Had it for an Epson 380 printer between my HP Desktop and wife's HP Laptop. Sometimes it worked, most times I had to unplug and replug usb to printer, or restart printer. So I just tossed it into the junk drawer and now I just switch out the cables at the printer when I need to.

I purchased it to switch my external hard drive with DVD and Network Storage.
however, it doesn't recognize my 250 GB WD drive.
it works with 16 GB flash drive.
secondly, switching between two connected devices is not very easy. took me time to understand...most likely because of AUTO switch option.

Purchased this product and right after it was installed, it worked like a dream. About 5 days later, and after maybe 10 uses, the manual switch broke internally and the unit ceased to function. Suggest looking to another manufacturer.

Nice little black box... works as expected. Nice and compact, too. i ONLY wish the button was on top, not on the side.
Be aware, because i was NOT, that this box COMES with two USB cables. i didn't, and i ordered two cables that i ended up returning.
