Aluratek AVW04H HDMI Switcher
The Aluratek AVW04H is a switcher designed for use with HDMI signals. The switcher will route any one of (4) inputs to (1) output. The unit reclocks and equalizes signals to ensure integrity and support longer cable runs. This solution is well suited for use in home entertainment systems, eliminating the hassle of switching multiple electronic devices in and out. The AVW04H comes equipped with a remote control for added convenience.

I use the AVW04 to switch between FiOS and DVD/blue ray players. It works flawlessly! The only thing I'm not crazy about is that the unit only selects from active inputs, so if you're trying to identify which input is from which device, you have to turn them all on. Otherwise, a great little switch.

I spent a lot of time researching HDMI switches before buying this one from B&H. A lot of switches sense a signal coming from a device (such as a DVD/BluRay player) and automatically switch to it, but that won't work when you have a Roku device as it is ALWAYS on! I also learned that the so-called self-powered switches have their own problems. Continuing my research I found this switch at B&H. Existing reviews seemed reasonable, so I decided to buy it and I'm glad I did. The unit is compact, but has a good bit of weight to it (so it stays where you put it). It has it's own power source and (not that I needed another remote) a remote control. It allows up to 4 HDMI devices to be switched into a single output (my older LCD TV only has 2 HDMI inputs and I have 3 devices). I have a BluRay player and a Roku XDS going through it, both work as if they were plugged directly into the TV. What else can I say... it's well built, it's reasonably priced and it works!

I have a satellite dish and my son has his PS3 connected. A slight delay when switching but not anything objectionable.

I have been surprised how good this unit is. It is very easy to set up and to operate for up to 4 HDMI units to one TV. Iy is very inexpensive and yet seems to be well built. I love this thing.

Not only does it do what you bought it for, but using a Harmony remote, you can program it to automatically switch to the input you want when using whatever unit you have plugged into it.
For example: Want to watch a DVD on your Blue-Ray player? The Harmony remote will automatically turn the unit on, select the correct input (as well as turn on your Blue-Ray player, Receiver, and TV). When you're done watching and hit the power button on the Harmony remote, it will turn off the Blue-Ray player, TV, Receiver and the HDMI switch box. My only complaint is that you must aim the remote straight at the box. The signal is not strong enough otherwise. Final evaluation, wonderful!
