I bought it because i needed a mic for a school project/ an on camera mic that produces the sound of something other than the camera mic. i love the size and the sound it can produce. i can use it when filming skateboarding with a fisheye. being able to use it with a fisheye put me at 5 stars though, thats what i most film. there's really nothing i can say thats negative about it.

Bought this mic for the Canon XA10 which does not come with a camera shotgun mic. It's a good mic for the price. Compared it to the SONY shotgun mic that came with the SONY PD170. FR-303 was slightly boomy and muddy compared with the SONY shotgun mic but I doubt that you'd be able to get the SONY shotgun for a price anywhere near that of the FR-303. One problem, the FR-303 needs an isolation/retaining pad to mount in the Canon's mic mount... otherwise it is too loose and falls out.

It looks like a very nice cheap (lowest cost) shotgun. Would work great on cameras that have Phantom Power. However does not work with Cannon MA-300 and other non phantom powered devices. Would be nice to have this small package work with a AAA battery or something. The other issue is the diameter size. B&H has it listed on the 25mm diameter size, however it is closer to 22mm. And when your looking for a mic to fit a specific holder, that's important.

I'm using the FR-303 as an on-camera mic when shooting video with my Sony AX2000. Audio quality is great, and quality of the FR-303 is excellent. However, I would recommend an additional windscreen or windjammer for field recording.

So far so good! I got this to pair with my Panasonic HMC-40 and it's working well. The size is just right, and the short barrel makes it a little less directional than my longer shotgun mics, which I actually prefer for shooting weddings! Cheaper than the similar Panasonic mic too, so I'm pretty pleased all the way around.

Good quality audio. works great on my Panasonic HMC150. Let it be known that it does come with a foam wind cover though it is not shown in the picture or as a supplied accessory. Fantam powered XLR shotgun mic for a very low price.

The price and compact design lead me to purchase this microphone. I'm using it for an on camera mic when shooting video. Audio quality is excellent. My only recommendation would be a more substantial windscreen if you are planning on using this mic out doors regularly.

I bought a pair to add "public noise " in my inear mixes and it does that job very well. They are one of the cheapest shotgun I've found.
