MXL FR-401 Supercardioid Boundary Microphone
The FR-401 Supercardioid Boundary Microphone is used to capture performances, speeches, and ambient audio from a distance while rejecting audio signal from behind the microphone. The cardioid, condenser capsule ensures pristine audio quality without noise. The low-profile design is ideal for unobtrusive use on stages, conference tables, desktops, etc. The FR-401 uses +48V phantom power and is a great solution in meetings, interviews, stage performances and sound design applications.

We purchased two of these mics to use while shooting a classroom training video. They definitely did what we were looking for. These mics have good pick up with virtually no noise. I was impressed.
Also, for the price, these mics are a bargain. They are solid, professional quality mics.
