Monster Power Beats by Dr. Dre Studio High-Definition Isolation Headphones
Dr. Dre wants you to hear music the way the artists hear it in the studio. That's why he's teamed up with Monster to create Beats by Dr. Dre Studio High-Definition Isolation Headphones, a stylish pair of high-definition studio headphones designed to reproduce the deep bass, clear vocals, and fine details created by today's digital musicians. Combining extra-large drivers with a high-power digital amplifier, the Beats Studio deliver a wide frequency response to accurately provide all of the detail in your music.
The Beats Studio also use active noise isolation technology to help reduce the sounds of the outside world, allowing you to focus on the music. Powered by a pair of standard AAA batteries, the Beats are great for use on a plane, bus, or train. Plush around-ear cushions help to naturally reduce noise and provide breathable comfort so that you feel the music, not the headphones.
The headphones come complete with two detachable cables, one of which has an inline mic/control button for use with an iPhone. The cables use Monster's Quadripole construction to reduce signal loss for improved balance and clarity. The cables use gold-plated 3.5mm stereo mini plugs, allowing you to use the headphones with a huge variety of MP3 players, CD players, computers, and other devices.
Other useful features of the headphones include a mute button, allowing you to listen to your environment without removing the headphones. These headphones are definitely worth all the buzz surrounding them. The sounds quality is amazing - sharp, clear, well balanced. The bass is especially superior with this product. The noise canceling feature is at least parallel, and in my opinion better than the Bose competitor. The fit is comfortable - very light-weight and cushy. The included case and cleaning cloth are a plus and the phone adapter cord is very functional and easy to use. I would highly recommend the Beats to anyone with a passion for music and sound. The only small drawback I can note with these is the volume of the music outside the headphones. People are able to hear exactly what you're listening to at a relatively low volume. All around this is a high quality item, well worth the price(y) tag.

The headphones did not disappoint from an appearance perspective. They're really cool. The disappointment started when I put them on my head. First, I wondered why the top would have no padding. It felt very hard on the top of my head. Then I realized it DID have padding. They don't feel all that heavy to me, just sat wrong on my head. Of course, the main job of these is playback. I'm no audiophile, but the sound was average at best. The bass is solid, but the highs were tinny. The fact you always have noise cancelling on means you'll always be affecting sound quality. Having to remember to turn the things off is annoying along with the need for batteries. Why can't you turn the noise cancelling on and off instead of the entire headphone? Seems odd. I really do like the way they fold up. The cable system is great, too. Anyway, my kid will love them. They look cool and cool people wear them... so I'm told.

Battery compartment inside the + / - spring contact get salted from the factory cause the sound on on side not function. I don't know it may the unit from other customer returned and refurbished or defective.
The sound quality not a s good as $29 Apple earbuds. I test it myself.
Beats may design for hiphop or rap music style. Not for other kinds. I compare with many music style and Apple earbuds lots better sound quality. Don't waste money on this unit. If you go to the local store their example music are hiphop and rap. Don't trust it.

I recently picked up a pair of these and have not been disappointed thus far. I use my Beats with my iPhone and also with my iMac when I'm in a situation when I want to listen to my music. I also plan to use them on some flights I have in the near future. The bass on these headphones is phenomenal. The ear cups are comfortable for long periods of time on my ears as well. I do not have any hesitation in recommending these headphones as I have no complaints with them. Go for it!

the plastic part between the speakers broke after they dropped 2 ft. from my bed to my carpeted floor. The sound is not as good as many other speakers, the only reason these are so expensive is because they're 'stylish'.
