This Acratech Quick Release Plate is a camera-specific plate, designed to securely hold a Nikon D300 or Bronica GS-1 camera. The raised lip on the plate prevents rotation of the camera body. It is compatible with any "Arca-Swiss" type quick release system (e.g. Arca-Swiss, Foba, Graff, Wimberley, etc.). Precision machined from T-6 aluminum, this high-quality plate features a satin black anodized finish, and is "made in the USA".

Comments about Acratech Arca-Type Quick Release Plate for Nikon D300 & Bronica GS-1:
Especially when used with long telephoto lenses, the Acratech type plates are far superior to all the other designs. Hence I have standardized on these for both my Gitzo tripod with a Jobu gimball head, the Gitzo monopod and the BushHawk shoulder mount.
A Gimball is not only ideal for long telephoto lenses, but is also wonderful suited for panorama shots from old market places and city squares. For that reason I bought this quick release plate fitting the camera with a wide angle lens. Mounting is easy and the plate fits beautifully under the camera.
But then things are going wrong. Whereas with all the other lens plates and collars the direction of the plate is in line with the lens, this plate is machined in such a way that the camera when mounted, is positioned at a right angle to the direction of the lens. As a result the camera cannot be mounted any more on the Gimball head.
Hence this is a useless plate for me.

Comments about Acratech Arca-Type Quick Release Plate for Nikon D300 & Bronica GS-1:
A great release plate for my Nikon D300. I was having trouble with a previous release plate turning slightly while in the vertical position. This plate was designed specifically to eliminate this problem and it does!

Does what it is supposed to do. Fits great. Lightweight. Would give it 5 stars if the screw was contained and couldn't fall out.

Comments about Acratech Arca-Type Quick Release Plate for Nikon D300 & Bronica GS-1:
Functions perfectly. Not as elaborately machined as some others (Kirk,RRS), but more of an Old School basic design. I actually prefer this style to the others.
I use it on a Nikon D300, and it fits perfectly.
It is also the exact length for my Acratech GV2 ball head, instead of the extra length that the Kirk has.
My only complaint with it is when not on the camera, it is easy to lose the screw, as it does not have the groove that some others have to keep it in place. This is a minor "nit" as it works fine when tightened to the camera. Just make sure to keep it tight.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an Arca Swiss style camera plate.

Comments about Acratech Arca-Type Quick Release Plate for Nikon D300 & Bronica GS-1:
these fit great and are made well like all acratech products i use with nikon d300 on a acratech gv2 ballhead my only complaint is they should come with a couple of extra screws or the screw should be made as to have a circlip so it cant fall out of the plate when changing cameras etc , though this is my 2nd one ive bought so they are worth it just becarefull not to loose the screw like me @ the beach ,ive also tried using a circlip to hold on to plate but wont work with included screw so yeah dont loose the screw
