It's tough finding after-market equipment designed for Olympus cameras---it just isn't one of the big TWO major brands... So, I was happy to find this QR plate (Arca-Swiss compatible) to fit the E-3 (and in my case, the E-30 and E-5). All three cameras share a female receptable near the tripod hole, which accepts the nubbin on this plate, thereby preventing the plate swiveling or moving about on the camera.

This plate fits and it is stable. Unlike other plates I have for the Vanguard ball head, however, this one comes with a separate screw which requires an Allen wrench to tighten or loosen it---other plates have better mechanisms--usually one you can tighten with a coin, etc. This screw can easily become lost, since it is not wedded to the plate. I hesitate to wonder what you'd do in THAT situation! It's okay if the plate will be fixed to one camera and "never" moved again.

For what it is, I think it's a bit over-priced, as well. Excepting, as noted, it seems to be the "only" Olympus-dedicated QR plate out there.

This is a beautifully crafted and precision machined plate.
It appears to be designed and manufactured with great attention to detail and practicality which inspires confidence in it's use.
It is light weight but very strong, with a substantial screw to secure it to the camera body.
The attractive satin black finish is of a high quality and should wear well.
It's excellent design is a perfect fit for my E-3, where it will be permanently attached from now on.
It looks very neat and unobtrusive when attached to the camera and I can still easily access the battery door.

I highly recommend it - every E-3 should have one !

( I believe it also fits the Olympus E-30. )
