The GoPro Digital Hero 5 digital camera is really a kit that consists of a five mega-pixel digital camera and an underwater housing. With this kit you can take photographs as you explore the ocean world both above and below the surface.
This easy-to-use camera has a strap to mount the camera to your wrist. The camera locks flat and pivots up for use. This makes it easy to use the camera during your favorite activities. I bought this camera for a dive week in the Florida Keys (my first time taking photos while diving). I fully expected, for the price, to have a "throw away" quality camera. I was MORE than surprised by the excellent quality of the pictures this little baby provided. As a matter of fact - one of my dive buddies was ticked off that his $800 camera didn't provide anything better than this little [$] job! Changing modes from single photo, to multiple photo, to video and back takes some practice but by the third dive it was almost second nature. The ONLY draw back was the unavailability of a flash. Deeper depths (beyond 50 ft.) this caused serious color distortion, but the color on those photos was easily adjusted on my computer once I got home.
