The Carson MicroBrite Portable Microscope is an extremely light, portable 20-40x magnification microscope. Its built-in LED light provides bright, clean-colored illumination for viewing. It is so small and light that it fits easily in your pocket to bring with you anywhere. Images are rendered inverted, because it does not have any prisms in the optical path (this is common to high-magnification devices). You can place it directly upon the surface of something to observe, or use the base stand for specimens upon slide mounts.

I purchased this portable microscope to use in my home machine shop. I wanted to be able to see the cutting edges of hand sharpened lathe tool bits. This unit is perfect for seeing sharpening work close-up.
It works so well that I use it for other tasks such as adjusting the location of center-punch marks on parts that I am making.
This thing is really handy! You can't beat the price.

Great product . I use it for looking at insects and studying parts of flowers more closely , so mostly in a natural history environment . Very portable and seems to be very robust . I cant think off hand about anything negative , except maybe that it is requires very precise placement of the specimen , and the specimen has to be moved in the opposite direction to where you actually want it , which can be confusing , but one you get to know the product , it is fine .
