The Porta Brace CBA-EX3 Camera Body Armor Mini (Signature Blue) is a snug-fitting jacket made of water-resistant, highly abrasive-resistant, soft-feel fabric that protects the Sony PMW-EX3 HD camcorder from bumps, hits and scratches. It also reduces the risk of camcorder damage due to precipitation, dust, and other harsh conditions. The interior side of the fabric has a mesh finish, to improve air flow around the camera. The Mini Armor has a simple Rain/Dust cover that fits into a convenient slip pocket. It has a clever Webbing Tab that fastens to the slot on the lens cap. The camera body armor is secured to the camera using touch fasteners and web cinchers.

Comments about Porta Brace CBA-EX3 Camera Body Armor Mini:
I've been using this cover for a few years now when I have to shoot on ski slopes. I've shot in every condition, from sunny bluebird days to burly blizzards, and the case has probably saved my camera's life on more than one occasion. I can put the camera down in the snow without any fear because the bottom wraps completely around, yet still includes a velcro flap for easy access to the tripod plate. The back flap is long enough that it will wrap around even with my V-mount adapter and an IDX battery, and there's plenty of slack if I ever needed to use a larger one.
The included slicker option wraps over the entire unit and even includes a "sleeve" that protects your hand if you need to hold the camera by the handle. I'd have no worries shooting in a driving rain with the slicker on the camera. I've actually shot while skiing and snowboarding with it.
The rain slicker stored in the side pocket is a little bukly and makes it hard to use the servo zoom, but I just cut the nylon strap that attaches it and put the slicker in my jacket pocket. The leftover storage with its secure velcro closure is then good for supplies like a lens cloth or even an energy bar.
The only other caveat is that the case doesn't offer ballistic protection. In other words, it doesn't offer protection from blunt force trauma like drops or hits.
As compared to the Kata product, it's more robust protection for the whole unit, but with less access to camera controls. The viewfinder cover for the Kata is better with the flip-down window that protects the controls. This product just leaves them exposed. If it had a clear velco cover like that, I'd have given it 5 stars.
It's not an everyday leave-on glove like the Kata. It's pretty much what it says: "body armor." Just like any kind of body armor, it takes a minute or two to put on or take off, but if you're shooting in an environment that you need that kind of protection, taking it on and off probably won't be an issue.
