The GoPro Motorsports HERO Wide Video Camera is a 5Mp camera that features a 170° wide angle lens for capturing as much of the action as possible. This on-board video camera system, mounts virtually anywhere on your car via a number of mounting options. The Motorsports HERO Wide camera even mounts to the top and sides of helmets. So, not only do you get the awesome images provided by the wide angle lens but you also get the perspective of exterior mounting.
The camera shoots up to 56 minutes of 5Mp video at 30fps and with a 2GB SD card (sold separately) can capture up to 1945 images when you choose the mode to capture stills every 2 seconds. With a free firmware upgrade from the manufacturer the camera's memory card slot is expandable up to 4GB SDHC. The Motorsports HERO Wide is shockproof and waterproof up to 100'; so, even when it's raining you can keep shooting. Compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems, everyone can upload and edit their footage at the end of the day.

The first time I used the HERO was at night and the clarity of the picture was astounding. Whenever I used a camera to film in the dark the picture quality becomes pixelated. Not this one. And the day time shots look even better. Its hard to believe that all this comes from a camera that is the size of a toy car.
The only gripe I have is the video takes forever to stream to Photobucket or to email to a friend. This was when I tried to send a 340MB video clip.

VERY GOOD CAMERA I PUT MY CAMERA ON SAILBOATS DURING RACES. EXCELENT VIDEO. GREAT WATERPROOF CASE. the only area that needs improvement is turning the camera on. it's hard to tell outdoors if the little red light is blinking. otherwise great camera.

I think this product is great. I primarily use it to photograph and video tape me riding my motorcycle (checking out my body positioning and reference points on the track). I like the feel of it. There are some micro cameras out there in the market, but this size of it, along with the waterproof housing says it's ready to take some abuse. I would, however, pick the wide video camera package, and buy the different mounting options. The Motorsports package has a number of mounts, which I don't use. I could have saved myself a few bucks if I bought it piece wise. Nonetheless, the product is great to relive the excitement. Remember, it is a small form video recorder, so don't expect a HD experience.

I use this camera for shooting motorcycle group rides mostly, however I also use it for car road trips, vacations etc. the product is very small in size the unit also comes with a variety mounts as well as a suction cup mount which works great, I wish you could use a larger card so you could record more than just an hours worth of video at a time other than that I recomend this product very highly it's great value for your money

I'm using this primarily to take videos of ATV trips. I mount it to the top of my helmet as well as a couple of different spots on the machine for different angles. Works really well. I'm very happy with the wide angle for what I'm doing but when you reach a point in the landscape that is far off it does not provide the best shot. Realize that due to the wide angle it is only useful for this type of video. Not at all a negative with this individual product but battery life is short and the inability to be sure it is recording while on top of the helmet is frustrating. Sound quality is poor but completely understandable since it is in a watertight enclosure. I would buy this again based on price, quality of picture, size and that it is waterproof.
