The Vanguard BA-185 Binocular Tripod Adapter steadies a binocular for clear, relaxed, hands-free viewing. It works with any roof prism binocular that has a standard 1/4-20 thread tripod socket, and on most models its thin bridge will still allow you to set your bincular to the minimum interpupillary distance adjustment.

Comments about Vanguard BA-185 Tripod Adapter (f/ Binoculars w/ a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):
If you purchase Vanguard Endeavor binocs and plan to use them on a tripod, this item is the one to get. The mount base is drilled and tapped 1/4"-20 to receive a standard tripod mounting screw, and the tapered body shape fits between the binocular tubes without interference. The wide paddle "bolt" is easy to screw into the 1/4"-20 binocular socket, and it projects out far enough from the body of the binocular to avoid finger entanglement, while not intruding into the optical image. Obvious thought and care went into the design of this item, and it does the job.

ALL TRIPOD ADAPTERS should be made like this............
The tightening KNOB is the best thing ever.........all screw driver head tightening knobs are LAME and should be discontinued by the entire industry..........actually,......they should be banned.
It won't fit all Binos though .........VANGUARD™ needs to make Narrower/Smaller version that won't Rub on the armor of all great roofprism binos out there.
Comments about Vanguard BA-185 Tripod Adapter (f/ Binoculars w/ a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket):
I bought the Vangaurd Endeavor Ed 1045 10.5x45 Binoculars. The front screw that come out for the mount is only about a 1/4 of an inch from the front of the binoculars. Basically this whole contraption extends out in front of your glass. I can see who this would work better for binoculars with the screw attachment point near the middle of the unit. Also, the cylindrical housing or sheath for the screw is too wide for the rubber coating that's around the binoculars.

Bought this for my Olympus Magellan roof-prism binoculars and some night time star gazing with a tripod. This adapter delivers as promised, fitting perfectly. Easy to adjust with the extended screw piece. Solid aluminum.
