OP/TECH USA Double Lens Mount Cap for Leica-M Lenses

Provides one the ability to mount two Leica lenses base to base for ease in transporting without bumping damage; i. e. in a coat pocket. A simple padded wrap can protect both lenses. Also, works well in pockets of camera bags designed for longer DSLR lenses.

I bought two of these, hoping save space in my bag and better protect my lenses. I was surprised to discover that two of my lenses were too deep at the back of the lens to bayonet the cap onto them:

Leitz Elmarit-M 1:2.8/21
Voigtländer 15mm f4.5 Super Wide Heliar Aspherical II

These three work fine:

Leica Summicron-M 1:2.8/28 ASPH
Leica Summilux-M 1:1.4/50
Voigtländer 50mm f1.1 Nokton

The non-functional lenses are only a milimeter or so too long. OP/TECH USA needs to either modify the design, or specify which lenses do not work, after doing some testing.

Too large, bad fit and generally not very pleasing in use. Diameter is much larger than original Leica lenses. Avoid this product, just glue a couple of Leica caps together and you will have a better product.

One might wonder if whoever designed this has ever tried it with a lens shorter than 50mm. Most of my lenses don't fit because it is too shallow.

Won't work (for example) with 35 ASPH, 24 ASPH, 28, 12mm Voigtlaender etc.

It's annoying because all they would have had to do was to simply take two Leica rear caps and "glue" them together, as the original Leica caps fit the wide angles as well.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Double Lens Mount Cap f/ Leica-M Lenses:

This cap would be the bees knees if it worked for M-mount lenses with rear elements that recess deeply into the body. None of the recent UWA Voigtlander or M-lenses will work, I found my 35mm and 50mm lenses were about all that would fit. If this was just a little bit deeper it would be perfect.
