The Op/Tech USA Lens Mount Cap is designed with an o-ring seal which creates a positive contact with the full perimeter of the lens mount area to lock out dust and moisture. It also offers a tighter friction fit over traditional caps that come with the lens so that it provides better protection to the lens mount area. This ensures that the lens mount cap is securely held in place while in storage or transit.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Lens Mount Cap for Nikon Lenses:
More secure replacement for supplied covers that ,for me, were always coming loose during travels. Protects the electrical contacts and rear lens better. I plan to get their double cap to more securely join smaller lenses as well.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Lens Mount Cap for Nikon Lenses:
On the plus side, the caps provide a good seal for your lens which is desirable especially on Digital cameras since you don't want any foreign stuff getting inside your camera.
Additionally, the price is right.
On the negative side, as pointed out in a recent article in a photo magazine, you need to highlight the small black index bump used to align the cap with the lens. If you don't have white paint handy, what I did was use "white out" correction paint, which is cheap and readily available. It seems to be working.
One other thing-with the cap on your lens the lens may not fit your custom lens case since there may not be as much clearance as was with the standard Nikon lens cap.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Lens Mount Cap for Nikon Lenses:
Nice because of rubber o-ring in the cap! Swapped out on all my pro lenses. As many have written, helpful to put some white paint on the "line up" indicator (a raised ridge); listening Op/Tech?

Comments about OP/TECH USA Lens Mount Cap for Nikon Lenses:
Normally, I am a firm believer in sticking with the original manufacture, but this lens mount cap is an exception. Far better that the original Nikon cap. I will be replacing all the lens mount caps that travel with me with these caps. The Nikon ones come loose and fall off. Great product. The only negative is the indexing tab on the side is a little hard to see for aligning with the lens, I added a grove and bright paint to provide a visual que.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Lens Mount Cap for Nikon Lenses:
it's worth the extra money. the rubber o-ring gives a nice tight feel when the cap goes on. never have to worry about the cap coming off on it's own in my bag like some of my other rear lens caps that are well worn. only improvement would be a highlighted marking to indicate the alignment of the cap to the lens. there is a raised mark for alignment but it's hard to see. I highlighted it with a silver marker and it's perfect.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Lens Mount Cap for Nikon Lenses:
I bought this to replace the lens mount caps that came with Nikon and Zeiss lenses. Now, I didn't think that there was anything wrong with the mount caps that came with Nikon and Zeiss lenses; but the Op/Tech mount cap is definitely more secure in its fit. Also, it is not going to accidentally get unscrewed and it's at a good price (considering the cost of Nikon front lens caps).
