The Kata DR-466 Digital Rucksack (Black) is made to carry up to two digital SLR cameras with mounted lenses, 3-4 additional lenses, flash, small laptop, additional accessories and personal gear. TST (Thermo Shield Technology) rib structure provides protective zones for the camera where it will most likely be impacted by shock and vibration. The yellow interior makes it easy to find all the items in the backpack. By removing the padded bottom camera insert the rucksack can be easily converted from a camera bag to a daypack. The main compartment holds a D-SLR camera in top grip position while the modular dividers system will separate, organize and protect lenses, flashes and other accessories. The large top compartment will hold personal gear or additional equipment. The modular divider system consists of two large dividers and three small dividers.
The Digital rucksack has ample external pockets that allow quick zippered access to accessories, an exterior water bottle/tripod support pocket pulls out from a side pocket. There are interior pockets for accessories and a MP3 player pouch. The bag is transported by a molded carrying handle, an adjustable padded backpack harness with an adjustable sternum strap and a weight balancing waist strap.

fits my macbook pro 15inch widescreen when I take out the little foam 1 inch insert at the bottom of the laptop compartment. Fits with the insert in too, but it's just a little difficult to get the zipper closed.
fits 4 lenses plus my Nikon D90 with lense attached. room for all my little accessories in the top compartment, plus an extra shirt and notebook.
very light pack, not bulky, comfortable.

Great photo backpack that doesn't look like a camera bag. Doesn't store as much as some other bags but fits at least a camera 2-3 extra lenses, flash, and other small accessories. The only downside was that my 15" macbook pro fits a little too snug I think the DR-467 would be better for 15" widescreen laptops.

Comments about Kata DR-466 Digital Rucksack:
This pack is good for the amateur photographer with basic D/SLR base, 1 or 2 lenses and accessories that does a lot of traveling. The holding compartments are easy to access and relatively easy to reconfigure. The rain cover is perfect for taking this into the outdoors and keeping your equipment dry. The laptop compartment size restricts how powerful of a computer you can bring with you, but that's a minor inconvenience. The hidden mesh pocket would be better if it were large enough to hold a full size water bottle. It's comfortable to wear and isn't bulky so it can be easily taken on airplanes without having to go in an overhead compartment.

Comments about Kata DR-466 Digital Rucksack:
I'm currently using this bag on a two week trip to Israel. I'm packing a Canon 40D, Sigma 18-250 OS, a Sigma 10-20, a Canon 420 EX flash, and a a Eee netbook computer. It all fits quite nicely but I'm not seeing how I'm fitting anything more in the bottom compartment other than maybe a battery charger and cable. Note I still have plenty of room in the upper compartment, which I've used to carry my sun glasses, iTouch, maps, and other food items.
I like the yellow fabric as it makes it easy to find my contents. I also like how the bag looks...which is to say it doesn't look like a photo bag. Very sleek and cool looking with neat design elements. 3 additional pockets to store smaller items like extra flash cards, filters, etc.
Now for my quips…the water bottle storage on the bottom right of the bag is virtually useless. Either that or I need to find a place that sells the world's smallest water bottles. My other issue is that the shoulder straps, while they look very nice, are not very sturdy. Compared to other bags I've looked at from Tamrac, LowePro, and non photo bags like Eddie Bauer and The North Face, the Kata straps are flimsy and second rate. With this said, the bag is still plenty comfortable to wear for the numerous 1-2 hour walks I've taken thus far, but it just seems this could have been made much better. Shame on you Kata!

We bought it for the T1i camera and accessories. It is enough big for our laptop, small camera, and video camera. And the tripod is easy to fasten.
We like it.

Comments about Kata DR-466 Digital Rucksack:
Pack is great for general outdoor use. There's enough space for your camera, a couple lenses, and a flash in the padded compartment. The upper compartment is great for filters, snacks, or anything else small. You can remove the padded insert and use that backpack for things other than camera use. Or you can use the padded insert in a larger pack if you need more space. The camera is not side accessable and it does not have a tripod holder.

Paid [$] and was well worth it. Very well constructed and padding is of good quality. Fits all my gear and laptop. I carried comfortably for hours during a recent hiking trip... w/o laptop. I would recommend the larger model if you own a long tele lens. Only minus is the lack of a tripod holder.

As I sit, typing this review, my Kata 466 is patiently waiting next to me, ready for me to pull out my DSLR and snap some pics.
Now I have virtually no reason not to ever have my camera comfortably and safely with me at all times. When I go to school, or have to do homework it is with me. When I go on a city or country excursion, it is with me. It is very comfortable and easy to access my gear.. and when I say gear, I mean virtually everything except a tri-pod. I easily strap my mono pod to this securely!
If you are looking for a cheap, inexpensive way to carry your laptop and camera gear daily without it being a pain, this is one of your best bets!

I'm a photojournalism student and use this bag to carry my laptop to class plus all of my camera gear. It's much more compact than other similar bags I've seen but can still hold quite a lot. I can fit a 13" Macbook, a DSLR with a wide angle lens attached, plus a flash and an 80-200 f/2.8 (plus the rain cover which is great if you get caught in bad weather or bike a lot like I do). In the top compartment it still has room for my lunch, wallet, iPod touch, cell phone, memory cards, batteries, laptop adapter and small notebook. There's also a pouch for my water bottle on the side. Definitely great for carrying around everything I need on an average day!

Comments about Kata DR-466 Digital Rucksack:
This is a regular size backpack that's not too bulky. The straps are comfortably padded. Kata's site says it will hold a 15.4" laptop. I have a 15.6" and I can maybe get it in if I stuff it, I haven't done that. If your laptop is bigger than 15" I would go a step up on the bag. Also, Kata is coming out with an improved model, the Kata-466i. It has a built in tripod holder, which is the only thing I feel this bag is missing. So maybe wait to get that one if it's important to you.

Comments about Kata DR-466 Digital Rucksack:
I've been looking for a good looking camera bag that wouldn't be an eye sore when coupled with my daily attire and I think I finally found it with the Kata DR-466.
The bag is well made and stylish and comes with an all weather wrapper to protect your bag and equipment in rain. I can fit my Canon 5D and 24-70L (although rather tight) along with my 17-40L in the main camera compartment and a flash in the second compartment. It would've been nicer if there was a tad bit more room since the small size does make it somewhat difficult to remove my equipment. There's also space for a laptop. I work with a 12 inch laptop but I'm assuming it can fit up to 15 inches at the very least.

I bought this bag as a means to carry my camera and anything I would need for a day out. I can fit a light weight jacket along with my water bottle, wallet, and snacks. The compartment for the camera is actually very large. I can fit a body with 2 lenses with tons of room to spare! Having the extra laptop compartment is an added bonus, easy to upload all my pictures in a snap.

Perfect bag for a light travel, a little bit tight, not enough room for long lenses and second body, excellent finishing, very stylish, and the yellow interior is very pleasant, more exterior colors will be most welcome.
Comments about Kata DR-466 Digital Rucksack:
the backpack is great, excellent size, and the front straps and back padding are great! it runs a bit small if you're planning to use a DSLR with a long lens (e.g. 70-300 mm). happy :)

Great bag for traveling amateur photographers. It also carries additional items for short trips, like laptops, magazines, ipods, water bottles, etc.
There really isn't any negatives about the bag, but I do wish it would come in different colors.
