I bought this WinTV HVR-2250 TV Dual Tuner to upgrade from the WinTV HVR-1250 Single Tuner. With the Dual Tuner, I am now able to watch one program while recording another. Both tuners integrate very well with Windows Media Center. Removal of the old tuner and installation of this new tuner was very easy. Both TV tuners work wonderfully - highly recommended.

Application:I use the product in a Windows 7 HTPC, using CPU graphics, i3 processor, and 4GB RAM.Pros:The board design and the auxiliary connector (that takes up another slot) are nice. It was also nice how easily the basic TV tuner setup from within Windows Media Center. Cons:The Hauppauge software (downloaded from their website) over rode the remote control buttons programmed in my I-Mon software. Which required a "regedit" scouring to remove all traces of the Hauppauge software and a reinstall of my I-Mon software to get my remote control buttons back.Using a TERK bowtie-style amplified antenna split between a (government issue) SDTV converter box and the tuner(s) built into the HVR-2250, the government issue box solidly pulled in more channels. Which to me indicates the Hauppauge tuner lacks sensitivity. Then come to find out, to use the additional video inputs on the HVR-2250 (for my Wii) you are required to use Hauppauge's WinTV software, which DOES NOT come with the "white-box" addition. So, I had to spend another $13 to order the WinTV disc from Hauppauge and that could take up to a week to receive. Assuming the WinTV (when it arrives) will make the input jack(s) functional, [...] I consider myself pretty computer savvy, but it was very unclear to me that you can download the latest version of the WinTV software from Hauppauge, BUT when it asks (during the install) you to insert the original CD that came with your product, it DOES NOT mean the DRIVER ONLY disk that comes with the "white-box" version. Be prepared to spend [$] and wait another week, if you need the video inputs.

The tuner perfectly integrates into Window 7 Media Center. The two TV tuners can be used simultaneously and the FM tuner is a nice feature. The customer support folks speak English and are extremely knowledgeable. I have found no flaws.

Comments about Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 PCI Express TV Tuner for Windows (White Box):
This card was real easy to setup. I did need the driver disc supplied. Once the driver was installed, Windows Media Center recognized the tuner and set about running the setup procedure to get the channels. No discernible processor loading. Recorded one show whilst watching another and the encoder did its work. Very pleased with the tuner card.

As the title states, this card is a replacement for a Hauppauge 150. I recently rebuilt my PVR and the 150 chip set will not work with greater than 3gb of memory. So, I chose this card because it has no limitations and works well with Win 7 64 bit.

Got this because my cable provider was charging 16 dollars a month for DVR service, granted i only record local channel TV series. So with all the ClearQAM i get from my cable i am able to use my computer as a DVR. i have 2 of them in my PC and gives me great flexibility in recording basic and expanded cable with all the free HD my QAM picks up.

I built a HTPC using one of these cards, then discovered that I needed to be able to record more than 2 shows simultaneously. [...].After install, my Win Media Center found it straight away and I'm happily recording my shows and my wife's asinine reality tv for watching when the twin 2-year-olds are asleep. If you need an extra tuner card, this is great. If you need a 1st tuner card, get the kit that includes the remote for an extra [$]. Well worth it! The only thing the Hauppauge remote is missing is a "delete" button.

Comments about Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 PCI Express TV Tuner for Windows (White Box):
I was using the WinTV HVR-1800 Single Tuner and decided on going to a Dual Tuner Solution . So I ordered and installed the HVR-2250 . I was getting about 65 channels with the HVR-1800 and to my utter shock this dropped to about less than 30 channels just by using the HVR-2250 and no other change . I promptly returned the HVR-2250 to reverted back to HVR-1800 and got 65 channels back . Newer is not always better . Lesson learned . :-)
