The Konica Minolta magicolor 5650EN is a large format laser printer built on top of the proprietary Emperon Print System. Its 733MHz processor supports a duty cycle of up to 120,000 pages per month. Perfect for high volume office use, this model supports cross-platform Windows, Mac, and Linux networks.
Capable of print speeds of up to 31 pages per minute, the magicolor 5650EN delivers high resolution, 9600 x 600 dpi prints in a fraction of the time of most inkjet printers. The standard 600 sheet standard paper capacity can be raised to 1,600 sheets with the addition of two optional 500 page cassettes.
Additional features include direct printing from digital cameras, PostScript support, and automated color consistency. Functionality is further enhanced with optional accessories, such as a 40GB hard drive, duplexer, and staple unit.

I strongly recommend this printer for anyone with high color needs. I can't say much about toner consumption as I have had it for about 2 or 3 weeks now, but the colors are bright, the resolution is amazing and the setup is fairly easy for a printer of this caliber. The only 2 cons I found aren't really cons, but something you should be aware of; it's a little noisy. Not that much considering it's right under my neighbor's bedroom and she hasn't stomped the floor yet like she usually does, and the network cable doesn't come in the box so make sure you have one ready or have a computer store not too far. Oh, and it can't print without margins.
Other than that, I LOVE IT!

I have had many printers in my office but none were as easy to set up as this was. It truly is "plug & play". As soon as I installed it, it ran excellent. I am happy with it except that it is SO BIG. I am sure this will outlast my other, less expensive, computer printers. Good printer and the colors are pretty accurate to the actual colors.

I wanted to upgrade my printer and this was on special. I have had good experience with Minolta Magicolor printers in the past so this upgrade was a no-brainer. The printer seems excellently built and has a well though out design. Most parts that wear are easily replaceable by the user. Color print quality is very good to excellent. Print speed is above average for a color laser at this street price.

I purchased the magicolor 5650EN based largely on reviews from another website. My Oki C3200n had performed admirably in my home office until it didn't. I rate the print quality of the 5650 ever so slightly below the Oki. The 5650's color variation is not quite as smooth as the Oki for large photos. Also, the 5650 has a sightly heavier font when comparing the same document.
The upside to the 5650 is its speed and cost of operation. The consumables of the 5650 look to be 40%-50% of the Oki. The 5650 is built for a much higher duty cycle than it will see in my home office. However, when comparing its total cost to other printers, it looked to be a much better deal. The rather large size is not an issue for me and the high build quality gives me confidence that it will last longer than my 4 year old Oki. I've been extremely pleased with this purchase and highly recommend the magicolor 5650EN.
