This particular Sightmark laser bore sight is dedicated specifically to firearms chambered for 9mm Luger cartridges.
The projected laser beam from the bore sight indicates (approximately) where your point of impact will be. Adjusting your sights or scope to coincide with that point effectively zeros your firearm for that particular distance. At this point, you can fine-tune your system by firing a few rounds, and adjusting your sights or scope to compensate for windage and trajectory.
