Lente Zoom Grande Angular 20x

I have never been a fan of hauling lots of lenses around so this camera fit my purposes perfectly with a 20x digital capability. It also has a viewfinder view as well as a digitalvuew which I really like in bright sunlight. But the real fun is hd movies with sound, and slow motion movies. Also, it will shoot 40 frames in a second, and I, too, like a former reviewer, have been having a ball shooting birds in flight. Shooting fast with a dog on the beach can give a rotoscope effect with better images than stopped movie frames. I wish it had a remote cord and I wish you could use a different kind of flash, but the fun this camera affords gives it five stars for the price. I think it is perfect for travel when you want something better than a small digital and don't want to lug lots of lenses.

The anti shake feature on this camera is practically useless and I opted to turn this off and use a tripod instead. Battery drain is high in the cold weather which makes the use of AA batteries useful.

Comments about Casio Exilim EX-FH20 Digital Camera (Black):

I was looking for a camera that would allow me to capture the action of my kids sporting events without costing a small fortune. The EX-FH20 fit the bill perfectly. It has DSLR performance at a very reasonable price. I can capture quality photos at up to 40 frames per second so now I don't miss any of the action. I would describe the photo quality as "good enough." To my very untrained eye, they look great. I doubt they would look as great at poster size but I have no intention of going greater than 5X7 or even 8X10. There's a feature called "Best Shot", which I'm still playing around with, that allows you to pick from a list of pre-defined options. There's one option that will merge multiple shots taken in burst mode into a single picture. For example, if your kid is kicking a soccer ball and you have this option selected, you can get the kick and the ball flying through the air all in one picture. It's really cool.

The autofocus seems a bit laggy to me, but overall it does a good job. If you select burst mode or that Best Shot mode I mentioned above, expect a good 10+ seconds to process the pictures. Battery life is not good (4XAA). It really goes through them quickly. I don't have recharcheables for it but I'm really thinking about it. I actually like having the AA's because I'm a bit of a knucklehead and I would forget to charge the camera from time to time. Having the AA's allows me to throw some in and keep going. The manual is good for getting you going, but it doesn't get into details very well (i.e. Best Shot modes).

Overall, I love the camera. It does exactly what I want it do and does it pretty well. If you're looking for a camera with DSLR like features without the hefty price tag, this camera will work great for you.

This is a great camera for what it does. The high speed feature works great with continuous lighting. The resolution is poor at the high speed setting (which is to be expected.) With some filters the footage looks fine.

I use the camera for golf swings, and it is awesome. I can do super slo mo and stop it at any part of the swing, which shows my clients exactly where the club is and what it is doing in the swing. It is as good as the BIZ hub they use on TV when they film the Professionals.

I am using this camera to help with training in the non-profit youth organization I run. This was an affordable camera that can be used to help show kids positive things they are doing and areas that need work. This camera gives me the opportunity to have low income kids receive the same benefits as though using high end training facilities

I use this product mostly for outdoor photography. The ability to shoot HD video is nice. Raw format, large zoom range and AA batteries were my main reasons for selecting this camera. I have noticed that using the LCD does deplete the batteries rather quickly, but since I use NiMH batteries and prefer to use the view finder this is not really an issue.

Comments about Casio Exilim EX-FH20 Digital Camera (Black):

As an all-in-one DSLR, the Casio EXILIM EX-FH20 leaves a bit to be desired in comparison with its peers. It's still a handy camera though. What it does better than any camera on the market is high speed video. This, combined with its large rear screen, makes it arguably the best coaching tool ever devised. For events which are all over in a second, like high jump or shot put, there are things which the human eye often misses. The FH20 gets everything, warts and all. Playback in camera can even include slowing down and pausing. This camera takes coaching to a whole new level. It's hard to imagine how much better this could be. I suppose the F1 could do a better job but not for this kind of money.Even at the relatively low setting of 210 fps, the camera is still capturing a sprinter at an amazing average of about 42 frames per stride. Nothing escapes it. We are unlikely to use 420 and 1000 fps is barely usable at all because it is so small. The downsides are weird auto focus and very short battery life. The actual limit will depend on the application but I haven't been able to get more than a dozen HS videos out of it, even with heavy duty batteries. Rechargeable AA sized NiMHs are the only practical solution. The auto focus also has some odd habits. Left to its own devices, it seems to find its focus point without the usual assistance of a half depression of the shutter button. One of the problems is the position of the AF mode button on the side of the lens. I have accidentally put the camera into macro mode numerous times and an effort has to be made not to touch it, particularly in vertical format. We have been using this camera in conjunction with Swinger Pro movement analysis software and the potential is nothing short of staggering. At this price [...] it represents the coaching bargain of the century and we are rubbing our eyes in disbelief.

Comments about Casio Exilim EX-FH20 Digital Camera (Black):

I am using this camera for sports pictures of my niece and nephew. It couldn't be more suited for it. The 40 shot burst is great. I don't changed a lot of settings, so the best scene settings are all I have used so far and they work good. The picture quality is excellent. The large viewscreen in the back is great for letting others view the pictures you have taken. Would have liked for the flash to be an auto pop-up, like a Fuji camera I had, but that is really the only gripe I have about this camera. I recommend the use of rechargeable batteries, with using 4 AA size this camera will drain them quick.

I was simply looking for a high end point and shoot with high zoom ratio when I stumbled upon this camera. I started reading about the High Speed features (which I didn't know existed) and realized that this would be the ultimate camera for capturing the fraction of a second perfect shots that are often missed at the race track (motorcycles). I have only played around with all the settings so far but I'm looking forward to this season trackside!

Comments about Casio Exilim EX-FH20 Digital Camera (Black):

I am a complete novice when it comes to cameras, this being the first digital I have owned. To be critical the instruction booklet & CD rom were terrible, however, this camera is very easy to operate. If you can navigate your way around your mobile phone you should have no troubles with the FH 20.
Sports nuts will love this especially golfers, at 210 fps nothing takes high speed video like the Casio.
I bought this camera purely for analysis of my golf swing but it is so much better. Quality stills and great HS video.
Rechargeable batteries are a must. It will drain standard alkaline batteries in the blink of an eye.

Camera is used for general photography. Occasionally try to shoot sporting events. Action is almost too fast to capture.
20 X zoom is amazing and precise.
Compared to other retailers, B & H's pricing was very good. I can't comment on auto-focus or shutter speed. I'm a rank amateur.
Seems the AA batteries went out pretty fast. Now using rechargeables.

1. Great 40 fps speed but but does not produce an impressive image at high speed.
2. Great zoom at 20x, but image still not impressive.
3. Low light shots needs a tripod, still not impressive and noisy.
4. Plenty of manual settings but limited with some other settings.
5. If a new firmware can possibly correct these concerns, it would be just fine.

Comments about Casio Exilim EX-FH20 Digital Camera (Black):

We got this camera because it was well rated by most recent consumer reports, and because of the ability to take spurts of photo's (up to 40 per second). Has a good HD movie capability, but it took me a while to figure out why the sound wasn't being recorded (it was sort of hidden in the instructions that sound only recorded if digital zoom / auto focus was disabled, I guess the sound of the lens adjusting during moving making is too noticable. Since I cut/splice movies later it wouldn't bother me if there were portions of noise on it, but it's just the design they chose to implement). The rapid fire with flash is nice, but driven a bit by re-charge time. I use regular AA alkalines to run the camera vice re-chargables, so takes about 1 second between consecutive flash pictures. The unit does seem to use up batteries fairly quickly. I go through a set of 4 AA's in about 1 week, but partly that's because with the new camera I've been trying all the modes and watching playbacks a lot. I like the feature of not needing to lug along a special charger. The cord to connnect to USB port is unique to this camera (e.g. USB connector on computer side, but not the standard connector on the camera side). I think that's because it doubles as an HDMI port too. Not a problem until I loose this cord. We've found with our other 2 Cannon's that it's nice to have any old USB cable work to connect. I have a Kodak camera too, and that one also needs it's own specialized connector. The high-speed movie making is neat. Kids like the slow-motion playback. It's misleading that it goes to super fast framerates because they cut back on pixel resolution as the frame rates get higher and higher (they must multiplex somehow with the CCD to get the higher frame rates at the expense of image pixilization). Nevertheless, the basic 300 frames per second generates a nice slow motion movie of the kids jumping around in good resolution. Overall a good purchase. Would recommend it. We almost went with the SLR size but I just didnt' want to lug around that large a unit and look like some geek with the camera strap or bag. This unit is not small, but I can still squeeze it into my pocket (or wifes purse).[...]

More features then you know what to do with.

Camera stalls as the flash tube apparently has to cool off effectivly disabling the camera.

Maybe a firmware update will solve it?

I am a ski coach and I use this camera to give athletes instant visual feedback. I also provide the athletes with online photo & video logs of their training. This is probably the best camera on the market for this purpose, save the EX-F1, which is over 2x the price.

Not yet got the time to push the camera to the limit. Just shoot things around my room, great zoom, but a bit slow in low light condition. The pictures came out alright. Simple to operate, it took my 16 Gb SDHD fine. I got over 5000 pictures at 9 Mbit setting.
