The Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 Flatbed Scanner, high-quality scanning has never been simpler. Four easy buttons automate the entire process, so it's a snap to scan, copy and create e-mail attachments or PDFs, and it is incredibly fast - scanning a letter size color document in as little as 14 seconds. Built-in retouching technology can further enhance your final images, and the Auto Scan Mode detects the type of original being scanned, then scans and saves it with the optimal settings. The Advanced Z-Lid expansion top lifts approximately 1-inch vertically and lets you produce clear, complete scans even of thick originals such as notebooks. One cable provides both power and a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed data connection for low power consumption and the scanner is also a Generation Green product that is Energy Star & RoHS Compliant.

I purchased the CanoScan LiDE 200 Flatbed Scanner to replace a CanoScan 4400f that broke after a long hard life. I use the LiDE 200 to archive family photos and recipes I find in different publications. I love the fact that this scanner only runs on only one USB cable for its power and data transfer, and I cannot believe how much faster and quieter it is in comparison to my old 4400f. Also the CanoScan LiDE 200 is half the thickness in height of my old 4400f; it even comes with a stand so you can use it standing on its side. The only drawback this scanner has it doesn't have is the capability to copy slides like my old scanner did which isn't a feature I don't miss with the CanoScan LiDE 200, "great scanner, reasonably priced and very clean and handsome".

Bought to use at trade shows & thought I could use the email button on the front. Doesn't work w/webmail applications like gmail. Direct scan button doesn't want to save to jump drive. Bypassed buttons & made it work. Would have hoped to save time at busy shows by using the buttons I paid for and can't use. Scans just fine for what I expected. Told Canon they need to get with the digital age.

Comments about Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 Flatbed Scanner:
My purchase of a new computer with a Windows 7, 64bit OS made my old CanoScan LiDE N1240U scanner obsolete due to a lack of a suitable driver. I purchased the CanoScan LiDE 200 scanner because of its similarity to the N1240U, which has been a most reliable scanner for the past five years or so and because of it's low price. It's differentiated from my old scanner by its speed and more advanced software. As with my earlier scanner, I'm attracted to its small footprint and ease of use.
A very satisfied customer here.

Comments about Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 Flatbed Scanner:
The CanoScan LiDE 200 operated as expected. The USB port provided the needed power to run the scanner. Its compact, fast and quiet. The software, however, does not have a preview. It scans the whole page. If i only wanted to scan half page, i'd have to crop it afterward!
Bottom line - a good scanner.

Comments about Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 Flatbed Scanner:
I'm a senior who just learned to add attachments, take digital photos, scan, etc. after buying another printer w/multi-funtions. I wanted something portable for gathering family history and I'm finally scanning and sorting all my family's old photos.I'm slowly catching up with technology ( I'm almost out of the 1980's ) and having alot of fun.I'm learning about all the bells and whistles and the multi-scan for up to ten photos makes the project go faster. As the instructions say, some photos won't multi-scan due to edges, borders, etc, but with a little trail and error, you find out what works.
I'm getting beter with it every time I use it, which is several hours a day, but have yet to find out how to delete a photo from the screen while in the middle of a project. Have tried to find out, but, unable to do that-if it's possible. I'm talking about deleting a photo before you save the whole batch you've worked on.
On the whole. I'm very satisfied with it.Also bought my first laptop ( small at 14" and the scanner is about the same size and the powered USB is a nice touch. Thanks!

I bought this in order to scan old photographs at a high res and in a fast and easy way. i also wanted a product that did not take up a huge amount of desk space. you can actually use the scanner in an upright position if you're really tight for space. so far i've had no issues.

I've been a Canon person for a very long time. I use Canon cameras, printers and scanners. I have not had one Canon product to disappoint me yet. The scanner is a step up from what I was using before. This scanner is producing excellent results. So far, I am very pleased with my purchase of this scanner. I'll probably buy other Canon products when the need arises.

Comments about Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 Flatbed Scanner:
My wife scans family photos as an average user, nothing to fancy. Resolution is great, operation is fast. It makes a small amount of noise, but that isn't a problem for us. Software is pretty basic and you have to drill down to get to settings. Defaults work fine for us. I upgraded from an LIDE 60 which finally gave up the ghost and I am very satisfied with the LIDE 200.

I had an hp scanner before i purchased the canoscan lide 200. what a differance in quality and more. easy set up .even has photo editing option before you scan your photo. its like haveing photo shop in your scanner. after doing the hp for yrs im very happy with the cannon and would highly recomend this product to everyone
Comments about Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 Flatbed Scanner:
I liked my first Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 so well I ordered a second one. My original plan was to move the scanner between my home and my office. But I decided for less than $80 it was better to have one in each location.
I have scanned photos and documents with entirely satisfactory results. When I wasn't sure how to do something I found Canon's free tech support was excellent--quick connections and clear information from U.S.-based persons.
I selected the LiDE 200 because of its small footprint, no power cable and good user reviews. It works fine on my iMacs.
The only thing lacking is an inability to take legal size paper. There is a stitch method for handing oversize documents, but I didn't use that, I just scanned the bottom and then the top to get the complete text.
A very nice and compact entry-level scanner.

I love my new CanoScan Lide 200. I am using it to scan family photos and photos for an album for coworkers. The process is easy, really a no brainer and I love that the Canon software is easy to use too.
I wish there was more info on editing the photos but for my two projects, the look of the photos is not so important.
This is the second one in my family, my father got one and I liked his so much when I came home from visiting him I ordered mine the same day!
Love it, it's fun and easy!

I scan equal amounts of documents & photos since I use my LIDE 200 for work in my marketing communications company. Scans are clean, reasonably fast & the scanner is so simple to use. I was required to spend time on the Canon USA Phone Help Line because the software was not Windows 7 ready. Canon help is the best! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a low price, high quality scanner.

For the price, this scanner is ok. I did have to return the first one to canon. They immediately sent as replacement that worked fine.[...] The software is a bit hard to use and it scans slow but overall it is ok.

A great upgrade from my old Visioneer scanner. Quick scans, great quality.
Of the 4 buttons on the scanner, I have one linked to the included software and the rest to my existing paperport software. Great!

Good unit for moving old photographs to digital. Its software will not work on Mac OS10.6 Snow Leopard, I was really getting frustrated then I tried Image capture that was already installed on my Mac, and it was probably better than the Cannon software anyway.

This scanner is an excellent device, fast, reliable, great scans, flexible output formats with easy installation of software. Integrates extremely well with Adobe PhotoShop Elements 4. Requires no power other than the USB connection. Quiet in operation. I've made hundreds of scans with excellent quality results. Highly recommended. So far I've found nothing to complain about it is just what I needed at a reasonable cost.
