When it arrived, I thought something was missing from the box, it is that light. Seems very sturdy under first tries, can't wait to take it out for a real test.I bought this after a couple of years use of the Manfrotto 028B monster tripod which is very heavy and needed the light weight for portable jobs. Nice that the rubber feet are non-marking and don't have spikes so I don't damage/mark floors. I also needed a tripod that would go into angles and low positions that my previous one did not.Great product!

I use this with a ballhead and sidekick mount. It's a good sturdy tripod and worth the money.

I shoot DSLR video and travel a lot. These sticks helped me keep the weight down for checked bags and even when I'm only shooting locally, the light weight makes it much more convenient. I think I now have the perfect travel setup. I bring my Manfrotto BHDV monopod. I've replaced the head on that with the 701 head, which is the same as what comes on the BHDV except the BHDV head doesn't pan. That combined with the carbon fiber sticks gives me a lightweight setup. I simply take the head off the BHDV and put it on the sticks. Of course, it's a lightweight head but for what I'm doing (talking heads and some basic tilts/pans) it works great.

I usually don't use tripods, so I had been carrying around a 20lb Bogen tilt/pan tripod I'd had since film school. But I started getting into HDR photography in my free time and lugging that thing was getting old - not to mention the minimum height was about 30 inches.

The carbon fiber is great, and the minimum height is only as high as the ball head I'm using! The only con I've encountered is that at full leg extension, the tripod tends to be 'springy'. If you push down on it, there is noticeable give in the legs' narrowest extension. But at 1 and 2 section length, it's rock solid.

I've been using a set of 055 pro aluminium legs for 20 years. These legs are just as solid but very light weight. There's a lot of plastic (like pretty much everything now days) so I don't expect I'll get 20 years from these legs.

This thing is rock solid. I had my 5DMKII attached to it the other day on top of a parking garage, getting a shot of the downtown skyline. The wind was particularly strong, and the tripod didn't budge. At one point I had the tripods legs fully extended, and my shots were still rocksteady in the blowing wind. Very impressive. It's not very heavy, so toting it around isn't an issue. It is a bit pricey though, but, for the money, you can't beat it.

I needed a tripod to replace a 30-year-old Slik I gave to my son. The Manfrotto is very cool, has more range, but is not much lighter.

I am an Photo and Video Enthusiast for work & home use. I decided to upgrade my tripod to something that will last for the next 20 years.
The Carbon Fiber construction is beautiful on this Tripod and it is lightweight for easy portability while carrying other camera gear which was an important factor in spending more money for the Carbon Fiber. I did also purchase the Manfrotto carrying bag which works perfect with the 808RC4 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head still attached.

I purchased my first Manfrotto 055cx3 tripod about 6 months ago. I like it so much that I purchased a second one for my husband. It is easy to use and light to carry but sturdy enough to hold my d300 camera and my 80-400 lens. We do a lot of shooting on uneven ground and the tripod is quick and easy to adjust for any surface. I haven't found one thing that I don't like about the tripod.

This is a great, lightweight tripod that is versatile for all sorts of photographic situations, but won't weigh you down. I got mine after using a friend's Manfrotto 055CX and I couldn't believe how light it was. The construction quality on these is great too - very well put together (made in Italy).

The best thing: I actually take my tripod with me now, because it doesn't weigh me down and freeze my hands off like my old aluminum one did.

I bought this tripod for shooting video with the Canon 5D MK II. I use a Manfrotto 503 head as well. It's stable and great for ground level shots. Not practical for mast moving news gathering, but if you have time to slow things down, this is the ticket.

I use this tripod with my dslr and all the lenses but especially my 200mm with a 2x converter. Does a great job, even in the wind. Legs are easy to set up and adjust. Tripod is much sturdier than my old Promaster. Weight is not bad and definitely better than a comparable aluminum tripod.

A good compromise between Aluminum and the Gitso 2541 I want. Not as light, but folds up to 24", which fits in my suitcase. Solid, stable, locks up tight.

Its an OK tripod. Its greatest advantage is that it is light. I have it supporting a Nikon 400mm f/2.8 with a D200 battery pack.

What I am not to crazy about is that sometimes the centre column doesn't lift or drop easily. I turn the release screw well enough that it should release, but I have to giggle the column to get it to move.

The legs sometimes don't retract easily, either. I adjusted the locks so that the legs move smoothly, but then the legs will retract by camera and lens weight. So, I adjust it so that the legs lock, but then two or three of the sections fight being retracted.

Using the centre column is fine, so long as it isn't extended more than 6". After that I found it a bit unstable.

I am not to crazy about the rubber only ends to the feet. I would have preferred retractable rubber feet giving way to steel spiked ends. More practical. That I have to pay over $30 for spiked ends, and that I have to unscrew them whenever I am finished just makes these legs seem a bit shy of "well thought out".

Nice and sturdy and easy to set up. The center column is sometimes a little sticky when raising.

Excellent built. But, not as light as I expected it to be. D700 with Nikkor 80-200mm rests fine on the tripod. Very stable.

Avid Photographer. Tripod is very solid but offers a nice wight advantage over my old aluminum tripod. I use this one while traveling and the 5 pound weight savings is great.
