Comments about Ikan V-8000HDMI 8" LCD Monitor:
The monitor has been pretty good so far. Simple to use and connect, and lightweight, which is great for my shoulder rig. The standard mounting point works fine.
Just a couple of downsides ...
The Sony adapter plate is great if you have Sony batteries like I do, but the fitment isn't that great. It fits very tight to the monitor, but also to the batteries, making them difficult to install and remove. Also, the placement of the battery release can cause pinched digits.
I've also had a small issue with the HDMI signal dropping when plugging in the AC adapter with a battery installed. It just took a power cycle to fix, but was an annoyance.
I purchased the bundle with the LCD monitor bag, which I can't use with my shoulder rig, but that's not a big deal.
I would definitely buy this again a it was a perfect fit for my needs. The different battery plates are a great addition.

Comments about Ikan V-8000HDMI 8" LCD Monitor:
I use the monitor with my 5D Mark II to shoot interviews. The quality is great. I have not had enough time to play around with adjusting the color, but it seems decent. The only real draw back for me is when it compresses the video in record mode. That is why I went with the 8" and not the 5.6". The compressed video is about half the size of the monitor.

Comments about Ikan V-8000HDMI 8" LCD Monitor:
I use this product with a Sony FX-7. Definitely helps me with focus on HDV shoots, which is why I bought the monitor. I probably would have bought the smaller monitor had I seen this in person vs. buying online. It's great if you're shooting an interview or event but if you have to move about, it's very big for a small camera. The HDMI cable needs to be taped away from the viewfinder and the larger batteries add a lot of weight to the otherwise lightweight monitor. Very easy set-up.

Comments about Ikan V-8000HDMI 8" LCD Monitor:
The monitor is big; it is heavy, especially when combined with the optional arms and brackets; it is hard to mount on the camera (HVR-Z7), use a Bracket 1; it is too expensive.
But when you plug in the HDMI cable, it is all worth it. For the first time, I am really confident of precise focus. One doesn't have to stay hunched over the 3.2" LCD which makes for easier tripod shooting which is all I ever do.
