The nanoPAD from Korg is a slim line USB pad controller (about the size of an Apple computer keyboard) that nonetheless provides a huge amount of controller functions for triggering drum samples and other uses. The unit features 12 pads, and an X-Y pad with "Roll" and "Flam" modes. The latter is useful for programming realistic drum grooves.
In addition to triggering sounds and loops, the pads can also transmit control change messages, allowing the unit to emulate certain mixing functions, such as soloing or muting mixer tracks, and turning objects on and off. An additional switch is provided that can recall any one of four scenes. These scenes allow all the controls on the unit to be set up in several specific configurations.

Comments about Korg nanoPAD - USB-MIDI Pad Controller (White):
This is my second nanoPAD. [...].Onto the review. I've dabbled in other drum pad machines and can attest to this one's functionality. All the buttons and such work similar to KORG's padKONTROL. However, at [$] for a nano vs $200 for the kontrol, I expected a drop in quality and function. This is not the case. The pads and xy controls work admirably.Aside from technical function, the only thing limiting this product is user creativity. These products in general have a steep learning curve. However, jumping into dj-ing and beat making or even sample cue-ing, this product is the bottom rung of the category with strong functionality. The nanoPAD has enough to get beginners going as well as keeping them satiated during intermediacy. If only other entry level products were this good...

Comments about Korg nanoPAD - USB-MIDI Pad Controller (White):
I own one, and have yet to get it to work, even the official Korg software can't seem to recognize it as being there. And Korg is of zero help. It is now
almost a year later and it's still just a thing in a box. All the promo videos show happy people using it, but nothing out there tells you how to get it up and running to make that happen.
