My equipment is a little older and a little less expensive and I tend to learn only what I need to know for what I am shooting. But I research everything I buy and my photos are good.
I use this card for equine photography (in both indoor & outdoor arenas) and professionally to sell on-line with an Olympus 520 SLR and the brighter 40-150mm lens for the horses, the 14-45 for every thing else.
This card is fast enough to handle continuous (3.5 frames/sec) mode and will hold about 1500 shots at the 'large fine' jpg setting. This is more than sufficient to photograph a moving horse with no breaks or disruptions in shooting speed. I thought about the faster 300x card but from all the reviews I decided I just didn't need it. My photos are clear & crisp and I never miss a shot.
I paired this card with the Lexar USB dual card reader (even though I do have a firewire port on my OLDER computer) and upload speed is amazing.
My shooting conditions are not always the best, changes in light and background (windows in the arena walls), dust, dirt & horses sneezing on the equipment and the card works beautifully and has been more than reliable.

This CF is very fast and for the first few months I owned it, I was thrilled. It has never slowed down my Olympus E-620 in continuous shooting mode. It has amazingly fast upload times and it seemed very reliable. For the first few months, this was the only card I carried. And then it crashed. My card reader and camera would not recognize it, my computers software would not recognize it. Sometimes I received a 'Protect' error, most of the time it gave me nothing. But I got lucky. I kept the original box, its contents & my receipt. I was able to download the Lexar Recovery Software and recover over 1100 photos. And their software was able to erase & reformat the CF. I still use this card (paid for it & it is fast!) but I don't trust it and I always carry a spare SanDisk. If you are going to use this card, keep your receipts, your original box and download the Lexar Recovery Software!

Comments about Lexar Professional Compact Flash 233x 8GB Memory Card:
I don't have a UDMA camera so I'm not stressing this card to the max. On my Rebel XTi it holds about 720 shots and it records them as quickly as the buffer can empty them out. Used it for a recent Grand Canyon trip and, coupled with a 4 GB card, was enough for my XTi. (My XT went through three 2 GB cards)
Both Lexar and Sanddisk have been, in my experience, top notch cards that you can't go wrong with.

Comments about Lexar Professional Compact Flash 233x 8GB Memory Card:
Card worked as expected w/ no corrupted pictures on a recent trip to Pacific NW. Only issues observed - which may be camera-related rather than card-related - is that if I tried to review the picture too soon after taking it, it would occasionally be lost. As this has sporadically happened w/ other cards am guessing that it may be a timing issue where my pushing the button to review the picture may be interfering in some way w/ the camera writing to the card. (same has happened occasionally w/ other cards) Also, I had one instance where the camera reported that the card was full but turning the camera off and back on cleared the issue. Have since successfully copied all pictures off the card with no apparent corruption issues. Calling it 4 stars until I use it a bit more.

So far so good, these have worked great for me. I went with a cheaper CF card before and they malfunctioned, it is worth the extra cost.

Used it all over New York City, and then a 3,000 mile road trip through the Southwest, including dust storms and air temperatures of 116 degrees in Death Valley. No problems at all.

This card is super fast for the price... the next step up is double the speed, but also double the price... doesn't seem worth it. this card full downloads onto my macbook in about 3.5 minutes. super fast for 8gb.

I bought this card for a vacation. Like the other two Lexar Professional cards I bought before it, it preformed well. It is also faster than my old one (an added plus). You do not have to worry about running out of room with this card!

Comments about Lexar Professional Compact Flash 233x 8GB Memory Card:
Never had a problem with Lexar cards and will continue to use them exclusively. They might cost more but why would you take a chance with a cheaper card for important pictures that you might never get the chance to take again? Plenty fast on a Nikon D300 but moved up to the 300x because of minimal price difference.

Great price, but still 3x the price (per GB) of the 16GB Kingston 133x.
I've only used it once. It downloaded very fast - no difference in taking normal photos.
I have 4 Kingston 133x 16GB cards and this. This one's for birding, sports, or other times I use 8fps rapid fire or HD video.
Note: One of my Kingston's had errors that caused a few lost photos.

I used this card for the first time during a wedding last weekend. It writes quickly and I had no problems. This is my first Lexar CF card and I am very happy with it so far. The price is fair.
