I had to switch to exclusively laptops at work. I missed my full-sized keyboard, mouse and dedicated printer. With this hub I need to make (or remove) only 1 connection to have all the comforts of a desktop and the portability of a laptop. Several of my friends at work were in the same situation, and for under five bucks, their problems were also solved.

I have more devices than USB slots, so I bought this product.
It's cheaply made but works and does what it's suppose to do.
It's a little weird that the connecting wire is wrapped with foil tape.
Looks like a DIY repair, but who cares for the price. Maybe I'll wrap the foil with black tape, then I won't notice it. Ha !

I use this to connect my printer and scanner. Works fine, and the price is right.
My only complaint is about the connecting cable. It makes for awkward placement in the USB port - the wire should be attached to the back of the connector, not the side.

I use this for my DJ/Karaoke business. I use USB ports up with audio, video, and two hard drives. This baby gives you four ports for the use of one on the computer. And the price is very reasonable. The small hookup cable is short, but folds neatly inside the unit for storing or travel. No need to run outside power as it takes power from the computer.

Only had 3 ports on my laptop, Mouse, External keyboard, and Harddrive filled all three. short wire hangs the unit on the side of my laptop but it works well. I was able to add several more hardrives.

I needed more ports for my 27" I-Mac, so far this works great. I have it completely full and have slowing down or delay. I thought it may take longer to to use something plugged into it like a delay of 1 second but that is not the case.

Handy item to have for your laptop USB connectivity.
Organize your USB ports accordingly and allow connection of multiple USB devices at one side of the laptop/PC rather than both sides and or the back of the laptop/PC.
It also helps the visibility of available USB ports rather than searching left,right and back for available USB ports.
Normally, I connect the USB mouse on one side of the laptop while this item connects to printer, USB broadband modem and flash memory stick.

A number of reviews complain about the 2 inch cable but I like the way works on my Toshiba laptop which has a USB port on the left side whose rear edge is an inch and a half from the rear edge of the computer (slightly under 2 inches when the lid is open). With the 2 inch cable, the usb hub lies neatly behind the computer when it is open, almost like having 3 ports in the rear of the computer and one on the side. If you have a left side port whose rear edge is less than 2 inches from the back of the computer when open, it will work well, otherwise you'll need an extension cable.
