I purchased this nd filter to use during sunny beach shoots with my nikon d300 and in the studio to cut the light from my strobes. It does exactly what I expect it to do with no problems whatsoever. I have read that the darkness of the filter makes it difficult to compose but I didnt notice that when I was shooting.
I would definitely recommend this filter and plan to purchase another one for my 72mm lenses.

I was looking for a neutral density filter so that I could play around with longer exposures in daylight and this definitely fit the bill. Good construction and price. I bought this along with another stronger filter.

My studio lights could only be dimmed so much, and shutter speed was irrelevant. This filter allowed me to open my lens all the way for the shallow depth of field I wanted.

Love the contrast this brings to my DSLR HD Video. Without this much of my post would be impossible and blown out. This is a must with HD DSLR!

This is great for allowing you to slow down shutter speed by 2 stops or opening aperture 2 stops. It works like it should and is very affordable. I also have the ND 0.9. It also works very well but knocks the light down by 3 stops.

This filter is sufficiently well built and does not cause any noticeable drop in image quality. It helps tremendously when shooting wide open on a sunny day for portraiture. Great value for the money.

I use this filter with my 50mm f1.4. It improves "ou of focus" on second plan, and are great for long exposure and movement photos, too.

Comments about Tiffen 52mm Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Filter:
I bought this primarily to lengthen my exposure times when shooting moving water. I haven't used it yet for that purpose, but if other uses are any indication, it will perform admirably in that regard. Thus far, I've used it to shoot sunsets. It blends colors to create a watercolor effect. Additionally, it allows me to shoot wide open with my f/1.8 to control my DOF in bright light.

I use this on the canon 50mm 1.8 and it is absolutley necessary to have for outdoor shooting and that lens
only negative is may not be strong enough for really bright days

Great for taking the occasional slow shot of anything with flowing water. Might also filter people from busy scenes if you prefer :)
