The 67mm Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Filter from Tiffen has several uses and offer the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. It enables the shooter to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the either the sensor of a digital camera or the film plane of a traditional film camera. Neutral Density filters are used to create some unusual special effects such as capturing the "blur" of the rippling water of a waterfall or the swirling effect of city traffic.
Tiffen's ColorCore glass is produced through a process that entails permanently laminating the filter material in between two pieces of optical glass that are ground flat to tolerances of a ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounting them in precision aluminum rings. Determining which neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters.

I shoot a lot outside and in Louisiana the sun is very bright. This filter works great to cut down the the brightness and allow me to flash sync at 1/250 easily without having the color messed with.

Comments about Tiffen 67mm Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Filter:
I'd never really used an ND filter and wanted play around with them. This seemed to be reasonably priced and since I was using it on a Tamron 18-50mm f2.8 I really could not justify spending $100+ on a higher end. Feels like it was a good value and did what it was supposed to do, allow for stopping down. Build was good and it did not negatively affect the quality of the image. Overall, very pleased and now I am interested in seeing what the others are able to do.

Comments about Tiffen 67mm Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Filter:
I use these ND's to get my Canon 5D MKII video shutter speed down to 1/60th when shooting outdoors and in bright environments. Works great, there is no apparent hit on sharpness and the filter is well built. Great bang for buck.

Able to save two stops for clarity in bright situations. As you get into landscape more, you will realize the importance of Neutral density filters. You should be using tripod action for these shots
