Don't throw out your analog TV set, just plug in Tote Vision's ATSC-100 Stand Alone ATSC/NTSC/QAM Receiver, which decodes all 18 approved ATSC/DTV broadcast formats. This receiver has 480i output with composite and component outputs with options for 4:3 and 16:9 ratio control. The remote control makes it easy to control the On-Screen Menu with its advanced 16-day Electronic Program Guide.

Comments about Tote Vision ATSC-100 Stand Alone ATSC/NTSC/QAM Receiver:
This product is originally designed for use with mobile TVs.
Its 12V AC adapter and the internal circuitry over-heat after a few minutes of use. There is significant background ham noise when the program is switching between movies, commercials or studio broadcasting.
ATSC: The receiver can not receive the highest top 2 channels of the spectrum. The receiver is not sensitive enough to allow over the air reception from transmitters located more then 10 miles away.
QAM: The receiver is only 64 QAM. This cable format allow reception of standard digital cable (SDTV) but not in High Definition (HD). Digital HD require 256 QAM.

This receiver is a good choice if you have a compatible hdtv to the 1080i reception,720p or 480p without the receiver, if your tv is not compatible with any hd signal you can choice the 480i picture definition to play the HD chanel at 480i.the pro:Good reception,image adjustment option,suport 1080i,720p,480p and 480i,suports componement cables for hd ready tv the con:No HDMI connector,the ASTC-100 box run a bit too hot. PS:sorry for my bad English iam a french Canadian.
