This adapter is MUCH more compact that the traditional adapters that iPod used to come with.This is a great design and it takes up less room in a surge strip or when travelling. I bought two so I could have one for work and one for travel.Beware of fake ones on some auction sites as there are ones out there with the same part number that don't work and can even damage your iPod. Does what it is intended to do and is a quality item, however, it is overpriced. You are paying extra for the high end packaging (clam shell plastic box) and included iPod to USB cable, which you should all ready have. A similar adapter can be purchased from other sources at a much lower cost.
