This Impact Miniphone to Female Hot Shoe 12" straight sync cord enables firing of any shoe mount flash (except Konica-Minolta/Sony or Nikon SB600) from a Pocket Wizard Radio Slave Receiver or Transceiver.
This cord has a hot shoe on top, and a cold shoe FOOT on the bottom that can unscrew from its 1/4-20" screw socket.

This product if a perfect fit for our Canon Speedlite's and our new Pocket Wizard Plus's. I found that the base does not mount very well onto your normal stand clamps, but I've found that removing the bracket from the bottom and and screwing it directly into my light stand adapter is make for a great pairing. We do a lot of shot that require the light to be placed above water or off of high places, and now I am much more comfortable with the mounting.

Decided to go with the less expensive Impact one rather than the Paramount one I usually buy and of course....you get what you pay for. My 580ex, 430ex, & 580ex II all fired consistently so it gets the job done.
However, the construction of the 1/4" screw socket is so poor that it immediately stripped from the plastic construction when I screwed a 1/4" spigot into it. I barely applied any pressure and it just kept spinning. If I had left the cold shoe foot on and connected it to my light stand with a cold shoe I'm guessing I wouldn't have any complaints.
So, if you decide to purchase this, do yourself a favor and leave the cold shoe foot screwed in!

Always fires. Plus, remove the bottom flash mount and it will screw in directly to a light stand.

This is a great product for strobists with pocket wizards. The only thing lacking is the mounting could be more refined. It is loose and woobles on 2 different light stand mounts. Not a big thing, but I prefer it to lock down tighter. This did NOT have any impact on it's use. It fired everytime.

I was looking for a trigger for an old olympus flash that i owned. Very reliable, and the price is very accesible. At this time i see nothing negative about this product. Get your hands in one of this, you won't regret it!!

Bought this to connect my SB-600 speedlight to a set of Pocket Wizard II remote triggers. It does the job well, save for some limitations one should be aware of:
1) TTL flash metering does not appear to be possible with this cord, manual looks to be the only way
2) The hot shoe fits way too loosely to the speedlight, allowing it to fall out easily
For someone who doesn't have time to fiddle with their gear a bit before a shoot, this is probably not for you, but if you can take a few minutes to set flash power and make sure you don't tilt your lighting stand the wrong way - mine is mounted backwards with the swivel head turned 180 degrees so that it slips up and out of the hot shoe mount - then this is a quick and dirty solution. Otherwise one would have to spend more cash on either a different remote or a pro-grade speedlight, which I cannot.
If there were a small clamp to secure the flash unit to the hot shoe mount and TTL abilities, I'd give this the full 5/5...

For starters this hardware performs as advertised. However, I gave it a 3 star review because I have to use it so gingerly. The metal 1/4" slot on the bottom feels like it might just pull right out of the plastic base. It's hard to screw it on tightly enough to keep my flash head from swiveling.
It DOES come with a cold-shoe on the bottom, so I'd recommend using a cold-shoe adapter and not trying to use the 1/4" slot.
As the old adage says, 'you get what you pay for.' This is a cheaper adapter, and it feels cheap.

Love these. I have 4 of them on my flashes. Easy to use, easy to install on your stands. Built well, I've not had any issues with any of my 4. Recommended!

Not much to say except that it does what it's supposed to do.
Build is adeqaute considering it does not need to be anything more than a connector that is fixed to something like the Magic Slipper.

When I received this product the hotshot slots were bent, and the threads stripped out the first time I tried to mount it to a monopod.
Could have been just my unit, but as always B&H made it super easy to return.
