Comments about Datavideo DN-500 DV/HDV Recorder/Player:
This recorder does everything it promises. It feels nice and solid, it came with all teh cables and a spare disk caddy. And even with advice which disk to put in the spare caddy.
My use is long format conference recording, we're just about to do a 5 day 7 simultaneous session event. This recorder means we can now reduce our tape purchases.
Analog in and out means no need for an analog to DV bridge. And being HDV it means we can move towards more HDV aquisition at conferences.
I would give 5 stars, but the external power pack, was the only negative. The power pack woprks for both 110 and 230V systems. It just would have been nice to be an integral power unit.
