Great printer. [...] (Large) 4 people needed to handle. Will go through a 30" door way. Easy to set up. Wow 44" for this price!

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 9900 Printer:
The biggest worry was getting the printer up a flight of stairs! Had to hire a separate squad of (beefy) movers to do so as the printer is dropped off curbside in an enormous box. Otherwise, the set-up and operational instructions are clear [...]. This won't be a workhorse printer; using it to make digital fine art. Already wish I'd ordered the 60+ inch! One thing you'll have to buy separately before set-up is a USB A/B cable (I got a 12' which works fine though 10' is suggested) -- to get connected to your computer. I've switched out 3 different roles of paper / canvas with little problem (yet one of the roll's cardboard tubes was a bit tight; won't sit properly in paper holder.) One more thing: if you've got this set up at home, curious pets will love to sleep in / claw / destroy the paper catcher bin below the machine; I removed it.

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 9900 Printer:
The driver has an issue that Epson is aware of for this printer and they have not fixed the issue. I have never seen a driver not able to make the proper size of print in the proper location before. It makes the printer almost useless to me. I have not had good experiences working with Epson customer service nor technical support.

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 9900 Printer:
Having used two x800 series printers for two years, the x900 series is a major improvement. The printing speed is excellent, but the best feature is not wasting half of my day running nozzle checks. It cleans itself about twice a day as necessary, and eliminates the need to print nozzle checks. The self maintaining aspect is wonderful for keeping productivity up. The colors are dead on accurate, any color difference is user error. All you need is a colorimeter for your monitor and the right paper profiles and you are good to go. It works perfectly right out of Lightroom using the Epson driver(included). The driver is so good that buying a RIP for this printer may be unnecessary for most users.
The print sharpness on this printer is the best I have ever seen. The built in "shelf" is a life saver when switching out heavy rolls of paper, and the spool design is a real break through for ease of use.
If you have an x800 series epson, or canon ipfx200, this is a real step up.

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 9900 Printer:
Pros: Installation was seamless using their installation CD to my PC. Right out of the box it installed, and profiles were immediately available to CS4 (I use CS4 to control color). Printed on both sheet and roll paper without having to call a help line, or reinstall anything. Color quality is fantastic, but I haven't used anything other than Epson, so can't compare. Prints quickly, and the cutter and catch basin work well. Stand was very easy to construct, and the printer was very easy to bolt to the stand (but see cons below). Stand has wheels, so it is easy to move around if necessary. B&H was knowledgeable, took their time to talk to me on the phone as I was shopping for this, efficient, and well priced for their service and reliability. Incredibly exciting to see that first 44X60 print being printed. No Info: Haven't used the Matte or B&W components yet so no comment. Not long enough to be able to evaluate nozzle clogging, but I did shut off Auto Nozzle check immediately in order to save ink.[...]

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 9900 Printer:
225 lbs of sheer large-format madness. Hurts the wallet a bit, especially when a full 700ml refill runs a good $2.5k (make sure you get it when you buy the printer! Runs out of the initial setup cartridges real quick). That said, stunning colors, great for fine art, but heavy and tough to move. Honestly though, you should probably be expecting that for a such a killer manufacturing device.

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 9900 Printer:
I've have not used this printer a lot yet because I've had a tough tie getting full in sets due to availability. When I finally (about a month) got a full inset (very little is included in the original cartridges) and was able to print. There seems to be issues with how the drivers work in relation to what the final print looks like. When talking with Epson Tech. Support it just seems to be the way things are. It just is not what I thought I was getting for sure.
There are other issues as well, but this is the one that's a deal breaker for me.
