The Wireless Elite Keyboard from Hewlett-Packard is a wireless desktop keyboard with a 2.4GHz USB transceiver. The slim keyboard features low-profile keys with a "scissor switch" design for quiet and comfortable keying. It features multimedia keys, HP TouchSmart PC hot keys, and a PC sleep button for enhanced functionality. How I use the keyboard: I work at home doing writing and design work, so I needed a dependable keyboard that could keep up with me. I also do some gaming late at night. This is easily the quietest keyboard I've ever owned. I purchased it because my old keyboard was keeping my girlfriend awake when I'd work late at night, so I chose the product based on reviews that lauded its near-silence.PROS: The keyboard is built well. I read some reviews that pointed to earlier models having weak side panels - my whole unit is solid. The keys are full-sized, well-spaced, easy to press down and provide great 'feedback' - better, in my opinion, than typing on a MacBook Pro-style keyboard. The volume and mute buttons are handy. I can type as quickly as possible with no missed keystrokes or errors. Also, I tested the unit from the kitchen 25 feet away and there were no errors. The signal's great. Also, the tiny little 'Sleep' button is convenient and saves power when I'm gone for a short time.CONS: Nothing significant. I suppose it would be good if the Num Lock and Caps Lock settings showed an LED indicator like most all keyboards, but it honestly isn't a problem at all. If it's a surprise that Caps Lock is on, I just hit the button again rather than lament HP's design.Others have pointed to the bright blue LED on the receiver as obnoxious, but I don't even see it. I use this keyboard on a desktop and the received is plugged into a USB port in the back of the tower. If it was in the front, or otherwise visible, I'd just put a tiny bit of tape on the light so it wasn't a bother.Final Recommendation: Great looking keyboard, very quiet, solid build - exceptional price. It stands up to keyboards I've seen in the $100 range.[...]

I just wanted to use this keyboard to control a media center. Worked great out of the box. I bought this because it said it was "spill resistant". Let me tell you that it is not! I barely spilled any water on it, next thing you know. Tons of the keys aren't working correctly. Really, really disappointing. The form factor is nice, but you get what you pay for. Look for a more expensive one if you plan on using this anywhere other than an office. Now I'm stuck with this stupid keyboard.

Comments about HP / Hewlett Packard Wireless Elite Keyboard:
This was an exceptional bargain from B&H - a great price [...] I highly recommend this company. Now for the product itself - this is a great keyboard - I really like it. The keys are nice to the touch - the only thing I would change about this keyboard is for an indicator light letting you know whether or not your "caps lock" key is on or off. Currently, there is none. But other than that, it is a great product. If you are in the market for a wireless keyboard, this is the product to purchase. I did a lot of research on wireless keyboards before I bought this particular keyboard from B&H. B&H had the best price around. I ordered the keyboard online[...] I hope this review is helpful.

Comments about HP / Hewlett Packard Wireless Elite Keyboard:
Not too long ago I sold a docking station from HP and it came with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Well to make a long story short they failed completely on the mouse but the included keyboard was pretty good but the link between the receiver and the keyboard seemed to go bad. So I ended up buying this keyboard not because it's from HP but because the price was good and the keyboard itself looked really good. Since I was buying a keyboard I wanted to get a low profile style or chiclet like keyboard since they seem to be better in design and the fact they are suppose to be quieter. As soon as I got the keyboard in the mail I was surprised to find that the keyboard was heavy (for a keyboard) and that the receiver glows blue. I love the keyboard and I do recommend this to everyone. The only problems I have with it is that it would be cooler to have programmable keys and that the receiver didn't glow but at least that's better than the last keyboard's receiver since it'd blink blue for every keystroke.

Really good value. Serviceable wireless keyboard. The bright blue light on the USB dongle is a bit annoying and I do wish it were maybe a tad shorter side-to-side to fit in a laptop bag.

Comments about HP / Hewlett Packard Wireless Elite Keyboard:
My desktop is connected to both my monitor and my TV and with this configuration a wireless keyboard is a must. I picked this one because it feels nice to the touch: more like a laptop keyboard than a typical desktop keyboard.
It was recognized by my BIOS right away and I was able to use it even before booting the OS. When the OS came up, keyboard's volume control and sleep buttons just started working without having to install any drivers.
The set of additional buttons on this keyboard is just right: two volume control buttons, mute button and sleep button. Media control functions (Play, Stop, FF, etc.) are implemented through a special "Fn" button. For example to stop playing a media file you can press Fn+F4.
The keyboard has a good range: I tried to put the PC in one corner of my living room and the keyboard in the opposite corner, and it still worked.
The sleep button is sunk into the keyboard and doesn't stick above the surface. However in some (older?) versions of this keyboard it's actually above the surface and you can accidentally press it when trying to press "Esc". This can be really annoying and it's probably best to turn off the sleep button in your OS configuration in this case.
Many people complain about bright LED in the receiver. This is a problem mainly for those who have laptops with all USB ports either on the left or on the right. Since my receiver is plugged into a USB port on the back of my desktop, the LED doesn't bother me at all.

I bought this keyboard because it resembled the keys on my laptop. I love the flat square tiles and the slim body of the keyboard. Overall it has a great feel, and looks very nice. For the price you cant go wrong. The only thing missing from it are LED indicators of CAPS lock and such. Even without that feature Id still buy this one again.

This keyboard is shared by both of my computers. I highly recommend it. It is very flat and sleek, and the keys appear to be in standard configuration. It has the square flat keys that require little pressure to depress, and have a great feel. I have had other other keyboards, wired and wireless, but this keyboard is the best, and the price can't be beat for wireless . i can't think of any negatives.

I love this keyboard. I have had other keyboard but this one is the best of all. Its light weight, got low profile keys so I don't have to pound on it to type. The range of reception was pretty far too. I was showing it to my nieces in the living room didn't think it would received it cuz my pc was in the bedroom with a family room and a bathroom in between but when they were playing with it and it work.
