Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer (Aluminum Unibody):
I use this as a backup to my desktop and as a traveling unit, in addition to a laptop at home when I want to be connected away from my desk.
It's fast, sleek, elegant. I have all my graphic programs loaded, and it handles it all quickly. Battery life is robust, and the unit stays cool.
For a 15" it's a large screen (widescreen) and graphics show beautifully.

this computer is used primary used for video editing, final cut pro
and itunes downloading. Great for internet browsing, pictures - cropping, effects, uploading, etc. Design innovative, such as the multi-touch glass trackpad, energy-efficient LCD screen and the wireless airport extreme 802.11n built-in. This is well worth the price and would recommend to anyone.

This is my first Apple computer & all I can say is WOW...why did I wait so long! This computer is super fast in running some demanding photo edit software..I use nikon capture nx2 & photoshop...super fast in all. The apple software is incredible. Also don't be afraid of the glossy screen...this screen is beautiful, no glare issues for me. I can't wait to buy the 24" apple cinema display to use with this! Buy it now..

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer (Aluminum Unibody):
Slim design takes up less room in the briefcase than the immediate predecessor (the non-unibody 15" MacBook Pro).
Chicklet keyboard is great.
The 24" external monitor system is outstanding.
Only con: The battery is a little more difficult to get to than the older models. There is no FW400 spigot, so I had to get a FW800 to 4-pin FW cable for importing video from my GL2.
It's a Mac. They always get better!

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer (Aluminum Unibody):
This unibody construction really makes for a rigid laptop...absolutely no flex whatsoever.
Comes standard with 4GB RAM (maximum per Apple although it apparently recognizes 6GB) and that's been plenty (without any Page outs) as long as I don't open Aperture or Photoshop. When using those two, I wish the OS would recognize twice that much RAM. But then again, a laptop doesn't have enough horsepower for serious photo-editing work anyway.
Battery life limited to slightly under two hours when running the higher-performance 9600M GPU, display at ½ intensity, optical drive unused, moderate HDD use, Airport On, Bluetooth Off.
I like the easily-cleaned glass screen and its dense colors. Hasn't been an obstacle for my work. I'm always able to adjust the display to preclude serious reflections. Further, I haven't had any real problem color-calibrating the screen. IMO, those who are complaining are either inexperienced in color adjustment or merely jumping on the "me too" bandwagon. It's just not much of an issue and a web search will reveal several top-caliber/easily-recognized photographers and graphics artists saying the same thing. The complainers better get used to not seeing matte screens (and adapting to glossy screens)...environmental concerns will soon make them dinosaurs.
A fine laptop for general business or academic work.

Great styling in the solid aluminum body. I converted from a VAIO which I thought was fairly fast but this new MAC is incredibly fast. Bootup is 30 seconds regularly with even faster shutdown. No more MS Vista "blue screen" crashes. I should have switched to Apple earlier!
