I support a facility that has standard VGA cabling for its displays, so when our new macbook pros came with the DVI-D model of this product, I had to purchase a lot of these to be compatible with our facility. The work perfect. I have tried a couple of the off brands to save a few bucks, but they have major problems with consistent connections. This one works perfect, but it could be a bit longer for certain situations, maybe offering as a separate product.

if you're a Mac user, and only want to connect to other Apple products, you won't feel this pain. but any time you want to use anything "normal" out there - you begin to say "Jobs" with the same hateful intonations as "BillGates".
i got this adapter to connect a projector to a MacBook Air. this is meant to be "plug and play". it is, if you don't mind missing the color red. you don't have it at all. you *can* the color red, but for that you have to connect things in a particularly inconvenient order: first, the adapter to the Air; then, the VGA cable to the adapter; only then, the VGA cable to the projector. if you place the projector out of the way with the VGA cable ready for use - sorry mate, we'll make you dance, we don't like it when people use non-Mac products with our gloriouous Macs.

Not much to say about an adapter, but you can't go without it if you want to hook up to an external monitor. You can also go for the HDMI adapter if your external screen/monitor allows it. Only gave it a 3 star due to the value-for-money issue...a bit pricey for what you get.

I bought this adapter so that I could connect my laptop to my external monitor. This brought is great if you are only using it for browsing the internet or checking emails. I would not recommend this product for retouching for you can see signal waves on the screen.
