I use this to control my cable box, tv, receiver, and dvd/blu-ray player. I used to have 4 remotes and got so angry when I couldn't find the one I needed! Now, all I need is this guy. It's super easy to use and has a good layout
It has all the features you could want (except maybe a fancy LCD touchscreen...but why pay $100 more for just that??). I think the best feature a remote can have is learning capability. It is soo easy to program this thing using the learning feature so don't worry if your component isn't available in the hundreds of pre-programmed codes...takes just a few seconds and you have it programmed.
I also love the punch-through feature that allows me to use all the controls for my cable box and control the audio on my receiver without having to switch components.
It also has plenty of buttons available to program...there were some other models/brands that didn't have as many buttons and so it couldn't completely control my system...but no problems with this

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
This replaces a WR6 that I owned for years. This remote works the way I would expect it to. It can be coded so that Volume Up/Down/Mute always controls my receiver - you don't have to choose SAT to change channels and AUD to adjust the volume. It can also be set to learn a specific command for a specific button, so even if your device isn't listed, it doesn't really matter. Backlight is cool (and can be turned off, so it doesn't waste batteries). Most of my equipment is pretty old (10+ years). I use it to control an old Sony receiver, really old Mitsubishi TV, newish Samsung DVD, really old Samsung VCR, and an analog TV converter box. Will try the Roku soon - I'm optimistic!

This remote does everything I need. It is easy to program and learns commands from other remotes when needed. I have an unsual soundbar that has a remote with it. The WR7 was able to learn the entire remote as an aux device. The low price is a bonus.

Works perfect with devices prior to 2008 - TVs, DVDs, AMPs, Receivers, etc - NO CODES for media players (WD HD TV +), for sony bluray players (bdp s300). OK as a substitutes for your original remote of old (2008) equipments.

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
I got three "universal learning" remotes for Christmas and this one is by far the best! The other two wouldn't recognize the new Comcast DTA units (even when trying every code & the "learning" function), but this one did with no issues whatsoever. I liked it so much that I bought this second one from B&H for the master bedroom. Easy to program and a breeze to use! You can't go wrong with this remote!

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
For an inexpensive universal/learning remote, this is a great buy. The stored codes are somewhat limited but you have the learning function to fall back on, which is quite easy to use and you can get older equipment up and running in no time.
The backlit feature is nice, though rather bright red. The buttons have a positive feel and the remote does not feel cheap. The macro power feature is good, though limited to 20 steps. If you have a complicated setup it may require two macros to accomplish.
All in all, I heartily recommend this remote to someone looking for an inexpensive, though very functional universal remote.

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
I own a C.E.C. CD player, and the remote doesn't always work, and it is just about impossible to find a replacement.I liked the idea of the learning feature of the WR7[...]Thanks B&H.At first I couldn't get the Learning function to work. The Enter key (ENT) was on the number keys, which are rather dark and not easy to read. The only complaint that I have with the unit. White numbers would have stood out, like on my Samsung remote. There is no code listed for the C.E.C. player, but I thought that it is probably the same as some other manufacturer's player.I used the search function, and by accident found the code. Then I used the feature for finding the exact three number code. It was the same code used by two other manufacturers for their CD players.I then reset the remote back to factory settings to try putting the code in directly. It worked like a charm. Now here was a nice surprise.I also used the remote to setup my Samsung tv. Obviously the Samsung remote was designed for their tv, and you will not find the exact same buttons on a universal remote. After programing the unit for the tv using the code in the list, the main functions like volume control, channel, and menu worked, but I wasn't able to navigate within the menu once I opened it.The manual didn't mention it but after you have setup a component, you can use the buttons on the WR7 that aren't recognized, and program them to work like buttons on the remote you use with the device you purchased, using the learning feature.Ex. I programmed the Stop button on the WR7, which has no function when in tv mode, to duplicate the Source button on my Samsung remote. I did the same for a few other buttons not on the WR7, that I use on the Samsung remote. The Stop button for example, can have a different function for each device that you program. When you switch devices, the WR7 will remember the functions for each device. So after you have setup a component using the code given, then you can further customize the WR7by using the learning fucntion. This is amazing.

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
Although I couldn't find codes for the units I'm using in my A/V system, the learning function is great. It was simple to program the WR7 with the learning function plus it added for some customization so I can to multiple things with 1 push of a button. Definitely glad I decided to purchase this remote instead of one of the more pricey ones. This is a great deal!!

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
Hi there,
I work in the custom AV business and purchased this remote to try it out. This is an excellent product, definitely up to URC standards. The button layout is easy to get used to, the night light illuminates the remote very well. Easy to set up, the quick setup feature is very cool. The macro's are punchy and work well. At the current pricing this is a bargain and can outperform many remotes that are much more expensive. Cannot really criticize this one, as a professional in the business it is one of the best I have seen.

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
This remote did allow 3 others to go into storage off the coffee table. The accompanying instructions allowed programming to make all functions work, but it did take a little while to get done. Since there are no codes anywhere for my Vizio soundbar, using the learning and "punch through" functions allowed its control, which was one of the bigger reasons I bought this remote.

I have an off-brand flat panel, a Kenwood audio system, a bluray player, a Dish Network receiver that all work smoothly with this single remote. I've moved the four previous remotes to a dark corner. For the price, hard to beat, imo.

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
This is easily the best universal remote I've ever owned. It controls all my devices without a hitch and was simple to program. The learning feature has been flawless so far and this has satisfied the need I had in purchasing it. The written instructions in the manual are clear and direct and this made for a quick setup. Only one small wish: That there could be a few more generic function buttons. This is by no means a problem, just a suggestion. Value for price for this remote is outstanding. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a learning remote that won't set you beck $100+.

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
What's excellent about this remote is the ease of programming and its learn feature, so I can still use it for devices whose codes are unknowable.
It's not perfect though. The lighted buttons are cool, but the dark colors of the remote make it hard to see any of the buttons so you always have to use the light. Also, the weight and shape require that you hold the remote from the bottom and not the middle, making it difficult to reach the upper buttons with the same hand that holds the remote.

Comments about Universal Remote WR7 Learning Remote Control:
I had this remote set up to control my Samsung TV, Philips DVD player, DISH Network Sat box, and Technics Receiver (with full-time audio controlled by the receiver) within ten minutes of opening the box. My Insignia CD player took a little bit longer as there were no codes for it so I had to do the programming myself. There were a couple of buttons on my other remotes that didn't have a matching function on the WR7, but programming those functions was incredibly easy. I LOVE how easy it is to customize this remote. All of the buttons are different size/shape and are laid out in a very intuitive manner. I knew how to use it without looking within a couple of nights of TV watching.I'm not throwing all my other remotes away or anything, but I can at least put them away in a drawer and forget about them for now. This was a GREAT deal for the [$] I spent.
