It's so big that you might as well use a handheld mic.

Comments about K-Tek KTFLTB - Fuzzy Topper Windscreen for Lavalier Microphones (Black):
It's about an inch and a half in diameter. Can be an eyesore if not on a black sport coat... but... if you're in conditions that warrant it, your client would rather have good audio vs. audio that's not usable or full of wind noise. I haven't had a client yet that hasn't been opposed to using it if it's windy outside (mostly weddings). Good to use over an existing foam windscreen to hold it in place.

Comments about K-Tek KTFLTB - Fuzzy Topper Windscreen for Lavalier Microphones (Black):
Cuts down the wind noise as expected. The giant size is crazy. You really have to hide it or it looks silly on camera. It is large enough to cover the clip and lav with room to spare. Would be a better product at half the size.

I produce an outdoor television show - a fishing show. The wind is always a factor, and the wind-reduction these things create is amazing.
They look kind of funny on a t-shirt, but hidden in a jacket, or worn under a sweatshirt, it's worth the "fuzzy button" look. You can also get a white colored fuzzy to blend in.
They also work well for cutting out traffic noise, if filming next to a road.

Haven't had a chance to really check out the wind canceling ability of these, they are just so BIG and unsightly that I can only imagine using them for hard core news gathering when aesthetics are not a priority.
