The MPA1 is a 2-channel microphone preamplifier that follows, and even exceeds Benchmark's previous standards for achieving the highest performance in a microphone preamplifier. The preamplifier is designed for maximum transparency, wide bandwidth, low-noise, low-distortion, and superior EMI immunity. Sonically and construction wise, the unit is perfectly suited for the most demanding applications in all forms of studios and live venues.
The entire MPA1 has a 500kHz bandwidth - and with wide bandwidth comes the need for exceptional Radio Frequency (RF) filtering and shielding. Each microphone input features a precision-tuned, 2-stage RF input filter that removes interference without affecting the microphone input signal, allowing the preamp to function in even the most difficult high-RF venues. Additionally, it provides freedom from inter-modulation distortion that can plague microphone preamp circuits with ultra-sonic bandwidth.
To match the performance of the preamp, the MPA1 includes Benchmark's HPA2 reference grade headphone amplifier. The high current 0Ω amplifier is capable of delivering the full performance of the MPA1 into any load presented by most headphones, without measurable distortion. THD+N measurements for no-load, 30Ω resistive load, and 600Ω headphone load are virtually identical.
Note! The 220V model has the same switchable universal power supply as the 110V version, but is factory set to the correct voltage for each model. Operating voltage settings in both models can be changed in the field by rotating the fuse assembly. Unit is RoHS compliant
