The LC-E6 Battery Charger from Canon is designed for use with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 7D and 60D Digital SLR cameras. This unit can be used to charge a battery for these cameras from a standard electrical outlet.

Best charger for Canon 7D, not Just 5D

A counterfeit charger and battery had come with my Canon 7D I had bought from an online auction. The camera would not recognize the battery at all after one use and recharge. I nearly sent the camera to Canon (who encouraged me to "send the camera in to their service center to find the problem.") I saved myself a lot of money and time by first ordering genuine Canon replacement battery charger and batteries from B&H Photo online. Now the camera works just fine! My only suggestion to B&H would be to add the other cameras which are compatible with this charger - currently their online description of the product only lists EOS 5D V-II. I nearly went to another site searching for the proper replacement batteries and charger for my Canon 7D, but fortunately called B&H and they assured me it worked for other models as well. I would recommend they amend the website so they don't lose more potential customers.There are many counterfeits out there, claiming to work with Canon equipment or even claiming to be Canon products. I encourage you to buy genuine OEM parts and only from a reputable photo supply company. Thank you! Terri Aigner

You really get what you pay for when you buy canon batteries and chargers. I use a lot of batteries when shooting video on my 5D mark ii and its a huge help to actually have batteries that actually get charged, but also a charger that actually charges them. Iv used other 3rd party batteries and chargers and they just fail every time.

After leaving my charger plugged into the wall in a hotel, i had to replace it. Though I could have opted for a cheaper after-market option, I was reluctant to mess with the battery or charger with my 5D2 so I spent the money to get the real thing. I will be spray painting my charger with a bright color, though, so i don't leave it behind again.

After years of Canon cameras and batteries not communicating well- going from a fully charged status to low and not knowing when they were going to quit - I was reluctant to pay the higher cost for the Canon brand. These batteries last long, charge fast and most importantly, communicate with the camera. I know, to the single digit, the percentage of power left via the camera. Finally.

Easy to use and monitor. Battery fits well and the charging is quick. I like that the plug rotates COMPLETELY out of the way for packing. I've seen clones that were off a smidgen in this and it played havok with the case.
Go for it if you need a replacement or backup charger.

When I'm charging batteries, sometimes with very little time to spare, it's important to know how much of a charge is available. I returned another brand of charger to my local store when it turned out to have only a "charging" indicator and a "charged" light. The battery level indicator on Canon's 5D/MkII is ambiguous in its design, and I"m never really sure how much charge is left, so using the LC-E6 with its indicator, showing how much charge has accumulated, is critically important.

Although there are some slightly cheaper chargers for the 5dMKII battery out there it is my opinion that this one is superior. I have had an issue with another manufactures charger and the LC-E6 battery charger always charges my batteries quickly and fully.

This charger does what it's supposed to do with no problems. Needless to say, if you have the batteries, you need the charger, but it's a quality product and I have two of them. I like the status indicator lights so you can get an idea of when the battery will be fully recharged.
