The Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate Software for Windows from Corel is a powerful software solution for digital photographers. The program, which supports more than 250 RAW file formats, can be used to import, organize, and edit digital photographs.
Fully compatible with Windows Vista, the software also includes Corel Painter Photo Essentials 4 and a media recovery software package. A 2GB USB flash drive is also included.
- Photo Import and Organization
- Paint Shop Pro can import and organize digital photographs. It displays thumbnails of all images stored on your hard disk, and you'll be able to tag photos for easy reference. You can search through your photos by filename, folder name, keyword tag, caption text, or image metadata.
- Retouching Tools
- The software features all of the retouching tools you would expect to find in a professional photo editing application. You'll be able to crop images, adjust lighting, remove red eye, change colors, remove camera noise, straighten images, correct perspective, repair damaged photos, and remove distracting objects from images.
- Professional Editing Features

Paint Shop Pro goes above-and-beyond the functions of a standard editor with its professional editing features. The HDR Photo merge tool allows you to create images with High Dynamic Range from multiple exposures of the same frame. You can also simulate real black and white images -- not simple grayscale conversions -- as you would using black and white film and a colored lens filter.
The software also includes layer functionality, curve and level adjustments, sharpening, lens distortion correction, and the ability to simulate bokeh on images with a large depth of field. You'll even be able to add digital watermarks to your images to protect your copyright.
- Project Tools
- You can use the software to give your photos a unique look, ideal for scrapbooking and other projects. PSP allows you to add frames or feathered edges to images, give images an aged look, convert to black and white or sepia, and simulate the look of old film stocks.
- Bonus Software
- Corel provides 2 free bonus software packages with Paint Shop Pro. Painter Photo Essentials 4 is used to convert photos into paintings. Media recovery software is also included, allowing you to retrieve accidentally-deleted images from memory cards.
