International orders*This Ikelite housing, designed for the Canon 40D and 50D has controls for every camera function. All these dependable controls are conveniently placed at your fingertips, and kept water tight with Ikelite's pioneered Quad-ring seal glands.
The housing allows eTTL operation when using Ikelite DS digital SubStrobes. In TTL mode you can fine-tune your strobe exposure using two push buttons on the back of the housing. This allows flash compensation of four f/stops, in half stop increments, both over and under the base exposure. You also have eight manual power settings in half-stop increments. Settings are clearly indicated even at night by a series of LED lights. Other manufacturers' strobes can be used, but they cannot provide TTL exposure or be adjusted manually through the housing.
The Ikelite Super-Eye magnifier offers enhanced viewing, when you're wearing a diving mask. The live preview feature of the Canon 50D is accessible for framing your photos. The camera's large LCD screen can be clearly viewed through the back of the housing.
The housing's size and weight provides neutral buoyancy, and superb handling underwater. Camera installation is quick and simple. An assortment of interchangeable lens ports allows use of most macro, wide angle, and zoom lenses.
Lens port is not included.

Comments about Ikelite 6870.50 eTTL Housing for Canon 40D & 50D:
Ok, so Ikelite really disappointed me this housing. Just to name a few problems i had with this;
First off the external mirror does NOT include IRC to reverse the image.
Secondly, the screw on the housing appears to be short, definitely something that needs fixing.
Third is this; THE ENTIRE DESIGN JUST SEEMS POOR.
***I'm usually satisfied with their products but this 1 came up short :(
One good thing about it though was that it was very easy to use :) I mean even without going over the instructions it was easy to figure out.

Comments about Ikelite 6870.50 eTTL Housing for Canon 40D & 50D:
I have had a number of Ikelite products over the years. They provide very good functionality for a good price.
On occasion, items have experienced mechanical or electrical malfunctions. Ikelite has always provided outstanding customer service on their products.
The Canon 40D/50D housing is well-built with well-placed controls. It hasn't been in the water yet but all of my dry tests have been positive.

Comments about Ikelite 6870.50 eTTL Housing for Canon 40D & 50D:
I just got back from Australia, snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reefs, and i have to tell you, this housing made my trip a whole lot better.
User-friendly, and keeping my 40D safe and try was great. It was so easy to use, it was kind of like just using your camera. Took great shots of sea turtles, white tip reef sharks, stingrays...etc and it was all possible because of this.
The only problem, though, is the port body and the dome port i was using. I put the lubrication substance all around the area, but once you screw it on a bit too tightly, it'll be almost impossible to unscrew it with your bare hands. I had to use some plastic like cloth, with lots of friction to unscrew it... 3 times. Whenever it gets stuck, im just really afraid that i cant find another one of those cloth-like things to unscrew it. Another problem with this housing is one of its controls. It says that it has controls for every function of the camera, but that is not true. There is no control for the little D-Pad like control on the camera. But i didn't need to use it, so it was fine :P
Overall, this housing has made my trip with lots of friends a whole lot more awesome and its worth its price. Thank you B&H and thank you Ikelite.
