The Giottos MTL9360B Professional Aluminum Tripod Legs, as part of the professional-level MT series, has a unique center column design, is versatile and easy to use, but yet still economical.
The unique swiveling center column mounting design allows it to be used as a lateral arm with angle adjustment, which is especially useful for nature and macro photography. The column can also be used upside down and reversed. It allows for 360° horizontal and 180° vertical adjustment, and the column can be positioned and set quickly by using the locking knobs.
In addition, the top part of the center column separates from the main column. By slipping this short camera platform into the swiveling center column mount, you now effectively have a universal 3-way head. This set-up also allows the tripod to be used for very low down-to-the-ground shots.

Comments about Giottos MTL9360B Professional Aluminum Tripod Legs:
I got this tripod because before this I was using a clunky telescope base that did not fold small and was heavy, This on the other hand is much lighter and has a lot more features. At full height it can feel a little unsteady but its minor and almost all tripods have the issue. I also would have loved to have an strap or case included but it wasn't a deal breaker.

Comments about Giottos MTL9360B Professional Aluminum Tripod Legs:
I use this tripod namely outside on location for action photography. Went with a durable aluminum construction for peace of mind as it will eventually see use/abuse.
I really enjoy all the ins and outs about this tripod and went with it after doing some research on the matter from fellow users. It is well made and has various features that I foresee taking advantage of in the future. The only item I see as being not up to par is the little swivel eyelet intended for carrying doesn't seem to be of the same quality/build as the rest of the tripod. A bit out of place it would seem. I won't be using it as it's strapped to my Lowepro backpack, but it stood out in my mind. Great overall, would buy again.

Comments about Giottos MTL9360B Professional Aluminum Tripod Legs:
It is a well design tripod and weight is not too much heavier than carbon and it could support up to 17lbs. It does have the 3 way option and just need to change to a shorter provided column/shaft.

Comments about Giottos MTL9360B Professional Aluminum Tripod Legs:
Solid. This is a great tripod for the price. Nice compact size for how big it unfolds to. It was a little heavier then I expected, but still not bad to carry around all day. It says it comes with a built in 3 way head, but it's really about worthless, spend the money and buy a nice ball head to go with it. Over all a nice solid steady tripod for the price.

WOW! I spent several weeks reviewing tripods at B&H and decided on this one. I am not disapointed at all. THIS TRIPOD IS FANTASTIC. Well built and extremely versitle. You can just feel that it's well made and high quality. Tripod has one bubble level, and with the Giottos quick release head a second buble level.

Comments about Giottos MTL9360B Professional Aluminum Tripod Legs:
I love the clamps to secure the legs, who likes the twist lock legs anyway? It is very sturdy and the padded legs makes it comfortable to throw the camera and tripod on my shoulder in between shooting locations. I really like how you can adjust the leg angles and actually remove the center section of the tripod to do offset shooting.
It is fairly light and compact.
I only gave this 4 stars because I had to send it in to Giottos due to the center section screw clamp stripping out. I don't know if I was trying to tighten it to much or if it was a defect. Other than this small problem, the tripod is awesome!

Bought this tripod for a 10 day hiking trip through the South Western US. Saw the classic's - Grand Canyon, Zion, Sedona, Antelope Valley, Bryce etc. Tripod was with me for every step. Not as heavy as I expected it to feel, and rock solid for every pic. Easy setup and take down. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Giottos MTL9360B Professional Aluminum Tripod Legs:
I shoot lots of long exposure night time panoramas.
My last tripod was a Slik Pro 340DX Tripod It was a great Beginner Tripod. But once i moved up to a heavier camera it was a bit shaky.
I wanted a more versatile and stable solution. I bought this tripod with the MH-1300 Pro Series II Ballhead and the MH-657 Quick Release and I couldnt be more happy. Its super stable, the build quality is fantastic, and its just marginally heavier then the titanium slik.
I use this with a 5D MK II and a 24-70L lens, its a lot more stable at full height than my silk. Sometimes you need to shoot over a rail or something and this makes it a lot easier.
