The Giottos MTL 9251B-5001 Tripod is a standard size 3-section aluminum model paired together with a 3-way pan/tilt head. It is made for use with most consumer SLR camera setups, and shares much of Giottos' feature set that is unique to their MTL class of aluminum models. With 25/22/19mm segments, the MTL 9251B-5001 is made for use with consumer-class SLR cameras with moderate telephoto lenses, such as a 55-200mm type lens.
There's not too much in the world of tripods that Giottos doesn't think to incorporate into their best models such as this MTL 9251B-5001. It has foam padded upper segments, a bubble level right at the neck of the unit, flip-lock levers which can be attended to in the field if needed, and an included tool kit which has a special short column attachment that allows an impressive minimum operating height. The MH 5001 3-way head has distinct locks for each axis of movement, with a 'snap-in' quick release system.
All together, this tripod/head combination weighs ~5 pounds, extends to 68.9", and collapses to 29.6".

Comments about Giottos MTL 9251B-5001 Aluminum Tripod w/ 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head (Quick Release):
This tripod with 3 way head is truly a professional tripod. I am surprised the price was so low. I am even considering buying an extra one to keep in my car..... Now for the up side on this little GEM, the 3 way head is Super Great, The center Tube is Reversable meaning you can flip the center Tube over and mount your camera Upside down... I would have expected to pay more for this super quality made tripod and features. ... I love the tripod myself. Bottom Line "Buy It Now"

Comments about Giottos MTL 9251B-5001 Aluminum Tripod w/ 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head (Quick Release):
I'm a photography student and our instructor ordered a few for the class. My old tripod was very unstable and I became frustrated so I borrowed a class tripod and really liked it.
The tripod is a little heavier than my other tripod, but still manageable. It has three level bubbles on the tripod to make sure that your tripod is as level as possible for the camera, which I find to be very helpful! The head also stays in place much better too so that once the tripod is adjusted, the head stays solid. The tripod also comes with a small tool for adjustments which I haven't used yet, but I'm sure will come in handy. It does tend to wander a little bit for vertical shots (but I haven't tried to adjust it yet). Compared to my other tripod for the price however, I have been much happier with it.
