Using this camera outdoors I am satisfied. It fits easily in my purse or my husband's backpack. We've used it for outdoor family events and to record mountain biking. For how small and inexpensive it is it does great. The battery life is great too.

Let me preface by saying I am a professional photographer so I may be a little too picky, but I am not satisfied with indoor recording at all. We are going to have another baby and I am searching for another camera because this won't cut it for recording the baby's birth. The indoor recording is VERY noisy. I've read that pretty much all flip cameras have this problem though so I guess a potential buyer should just know to expect noisy indoor pics.

I already have a Aiptek 1080 HD, it's one of my favorite cameras, plus I carry it with me everyday, and use it often. I ordered the Action-HD for a backup camera, for use as a second camera setup. After it arrived I ran a few test shots and found the lens has issues with distortion. First try with the 1080 30 fp squeezed the persons head into a pickle shape. Next the test was on 720 60 fp, here I shot some lawn furniture, these clips extended the shape of chair, could not use these with my original Aiptek 1080-HD editing. With more research, I'm sure I'll find the perfect Aiptek that works for me. Many of my Friends have purchased the Aiptek-HD After seeing all my work with this Camcorder, they were amazed how long the battery would last if you don't us the flash all day. [...]Marlyn W. Rodi

Sure, the zoom is limited, it has no mic in, and the built in light is small. But it shoots 1080i for under 200 dollars. Did you expect a Panasonic Varicam? It's great for quick, reliable and easy shots of the kids chasing the dog, or grandma opening her Christmas presents.

I bought this for use as a video recorder for an analogue "lipstick" helmet cam. It is one of the few newer video cameras with an A/V input jack, and certainly the least expensive. Controls are simple with no fancy features. It has a nice small size, so will fit in my chest pack. The battery life is short (about 60 minutes) but uses the easy-to-find and inexpensive Li-ion NP-60 battery. Also, it will take an external battery pack, since the power input is a 5V standard mini USB (so very versatile). Video quality from the camera itself is actually amazing for the price, and the photos are also reasonable. Others commented on 'flimsy' construction, and it doesn't have a solid feel to it, but I like the light weight. Also, it lacks a protective lens cap (but does have a clear glass cover over the lens). This is a great value, and I'm tempted to buy a second one.

The features of this camera are fantastic. However, if I could have a wish list of features...size would be important. This camera is small but not small enough to fit in your pocket or carry in a small purse. But if you are looking for a feature rich semi small HD camera at an affordable price this is a great choice.

I went to [@] when i first started to look for this. I found that the Sony Camera for the same wasn't even as good as this one. The tripod with it is perfect. The still camera is great. And the 1080 Video is great. Can't do much better for the price.

A fun HD camera that fits in your pocket. No more problems with tapes being lost or malfunctioning. open the lcd screen and record to a sd card. Great images in well lit situations. Low light is not as good. The lens could have a wider angle.

I am using this product for interviewing and therapy sessions for a grad program. I have been impressed so far with the picture quality, the zoom lens, the swivel screen and the ability to do pictures in color, B/W, and sepia. It is very easy to use. It came with alot of extras too.
The sound quality is not quite what I hoped for but it has been adequate.

Bought this camera to use as a recording device for my helmet camera, it worked great. The battery lasted for about 90 minutes of recording with the display closed before I had to charge it up again. It's a great value for the price, the helmet camera vendor actually wanted $70 more for their branded older version of the same device. I sent that one back and opted for this one - which has HD recording capability. By itself, the camcorder isn't really great for production work due to lack of manual options but it's great for behind the scenes or fun projects. I could also imagine it working in a pinch if you need to get a shot from an extreme angle from a really cramped spot, you can fit this thing anywhere. The auto-focus is a bit dodgy, sometimes it can get stuck and take quite a while to pull focus.

I bought this thing as a cheap easy camera that I could take everywhere and not worry about breaking it. The picture is okay considering the cost of the camera especially with higher light situations but it is by no means something that I would want to use on anything important. One thing that I find very troubling is the focus. It is constantly racking focus and pulling the picture in and out of focus. It is a little better in higher light, but it is something to be aware of. Price was the main thing that drove my decision to buy this thing and remains the only reason that I think this is an okay camera. I am going to buy a better quality camera for shooting more important footage, but for stuff where the camera might get lost or broken I will take this one.
