International orders*The DM1612 from Lectrosonics is a digital audio processor, that shares many of the DSP functions common in the marketplace, but with a very comprehensive routing system that allows any input to be patched to any single or multiple outputs simultaneously. Primary applications include sound reinforcement, boardroom conferencing, houses of worship, courtrooms and hotels. Any place which requires the use of multiple microphones and loudspeakers.
The unit provides 16 microphone/line inputs, 12 line outputs (4 switchable to microphone output) with each input possessing a fixed sequence of multiple DSP filters, ADFE (automatic digital feedback eliminator), a compressor and a digital delay. During the routing stage (the matrix mixer), gain can be adjusted and then each output provides a digital delay, multiple DSP filters and a compressor/limiter. Modules have extensive editing parameters, and can be switched in or out of the signal path as required.
The DM1612 features an algorithm to help with the performance of multiple microphone sources. Each microphone input can be assigned to a different mode that will govern how that microphone behaves in respect to other open sources. Attenuation of various sources is done in an intelligent and seamless manner, eliminating gating and its detrimental effects. Further, since the processing happens on the output, each input can function differently at each destination.
The unit can be programmed from the front-panel or via Windows software and a RS232 or USB equipped computer. Remote hardware control is also possible once the initial set-up is complete. Multiple units can be interfaced for greater system resources. Finally, all functions are available on all inputs and outputs without impacting DSP resources. Latency is minimal, even in multiple unit situations.
