What would you expect for the flagship Nikon dslr? This strap is super thin, and super strong. What more could you ask for? I got this for my brother because he lost his - he's been walking around with a d40 strap for his d3x... now everyone can turn their heads from afar when they read those 3 magical numbers/letters - D3X!

I purchased this strap to use with a heavy SLR camera, not a D3X, and it works beautifully. I like to adjust my straps so that they are short. This way the camera does not bounce too much when I am hiking or walking. The camera balances nicely with this strap and the strap handles the weight easily. It is well made and the price is right. Good value.
