The Fantasea Line Remora Flash was designed for digital cameras. By means of a small light sensor in the strobe body, the strobe unit triggers in sync with the digital camera's internal flash.
The power dial is used to manually adjust the light output. This provides accurate manual exposure control and short recycle time. At full power you have a guide number of 20. This allows the strobe to be compatible for both macro and wide angle photography.
The Remora features four different pre-flash settings, to suit a wide variety of digital cameras. Whether your camera has one, two or three pre-flashes to set exposure or none at all, the strobe ensures firing and correct exposure with all camera types.
Attach the Remora Flash to the flex arm -- it's easy to do. Now you are ready to shoot great photos underwater and outdoors in extreme environments. The Flash also features a built-in Y-S Mount for attaching a focus light on top of the flash. There is no need for an additional arm.
An external flash, is your most important accessory. The ocean is one big, blue filter. As you descend, the reds and oranges quickly become muted shades of blue and gray. Using a color corrected strobe light will bring back your subject's natural color.

The product is satisfactory for me, a amateur photographer. I had another flash, but smaller, and the remora flash help me to take photos with higher quality. I recommend it as a first flash.

Comments about Fantasea Line Remora Flash:
I bought a pair of these in preperation for two weeks of diving in Indonesia. I was only able to receive these just a few days before my departure and did a good assembly and check with my camera to make sure everything worked. All seemed good to go.
Easy to assemble, nice pop-in / out feature of the fiber optic cable to the strobe, tray is very versatile for attaching cameras or even other items such as lights, units are not overly heavy.
On the first dive, one of the units leaked and became inoperable. Because of the design, any leak allows water to reach all interior compartments. A rinse in fresh water to try and recover it failed (wasn't expecting much there)
I contined using the other unit and as dives accumulated (29 over 8-1/2 days) the switch began to not work well. I had to fiddle with it to get the stobe to come on. It stopped working in test mode altogehter and by day-6, the unit would no longer turn on. The unit never did leak so this was strictly a mechanical issue.
I really liked the features of these strobes as they work with the point and shoot cameras with a fiber optic connection and you can adjust the output of the flash to accomondate for ambient lighting. I was getting some nice photos and was aggrevated that I had to stop using the camera.
Fortunately, I also brought my Sony HD video and Ikelite housing so I still had a way to capture some of the fantastic sea life and plant life in the Raja Ampat region.
Unfortunately, my only recourse will be to get these repaired under warranty though I would prefer to return them and select an alternate strobe.
If they can fix the obvious quality issues, I think these would be great strobes. Recycle time is a quite fast 3-4 seconds under full power. This lets you take several shots with adjustments in the output in a small amount of time.

I purchased this flash for my underwater casio exlim 1200. I am unable to get a photo that I am happy with. I have tried all the preflash settings that the manual suggests without any results. All the photos turn out underexposed. I e-mailed fantasia however they refuse to return my e-mails. I would not recommend this flash to anyone
