The Fantasea FP-5000 housing is for the Nikon CoolPix P5000 and P5100 digital camera. You can use this housing to take underwater photos at depths of up to 200' (60 m). Be confident that your camera is protected with the included one-year DEPP flood insurance. The housing is also great for taking worry-free pictures in the rain, at the beach, or on the ski slopes.
The housing features double O-ring seals on all control buttons, which are now made from coated brass. There is a radial O-ring main seal, a diffuser built into the housing, anti-glare hood over the LCD screen and four stainless-steel buckles.
You can use your camera's internal flash for lighting purposes. Or, use the internal flash to trigger a slaved external strobe like those made by Fantasea, Inon, Sea & Sea and Sealife. Wide-angle conversion lenses with a 46mm thread will fit the housing. By getting closer to your subjects there will be less water between you and your subject. This will produce better photos with more contrast and improved color saturation.
This Fantasea CoolFlash Nano Flash Kit combines a durable watertight housing together with a remote land flash. The combination provides the perfect economical solution to be used with all digital point and shoot cameras. The strobe unit triggers in sync with the digital camera's internal flash by a small light sensor in the strobe body.
The Nano has three flash modes to suit a wide variety of digital cameras. Whether your camera is capable of manual mode, or has one or two pre-flashes to set exposure, the strobe ensures correct exposure with all such camera types.
The CoolFlash Nano attaches easily to the included flex arm and the photographer is ready to shoot great photos underwater and outdoors in extreme environments. The CoolFlash Nano works with all Fantasea housings as well as other digital camera housings.
As you go deeper underwater the blue color of the water filters out all the beautiful reds, oranges and other colors. Using an external flash close to your subject brings back the true vibrant colors of the underwater world.
The camera's internal flash is too close to the lens and will cause a snow like effect called back-scatter. The internal flash along with the included fiber optic cable is only used to fire the CoolFlash Nano.
