I bought this for my new Verbatim Acclaim 1TB USB hard drive, which is just a little larger than a deck of cards. This case does a reasonable job, affordably.
The exterior of the case is "hard," but has some give. While it isn't completely rigid, I'm comfortable it'll protect the drive from minor bumps and drops. Inside, there's a velcro strap to secure the drive, plus a mesh pocket for a cable or other small items.
There are three types of fastening options on outside of the case: an included removable neckstrap which clips to two metal rings on the sides, a nylon belt loop sewn in on the back, and an included removable medium-size carabiner which attaches to a metal ring at the top of the belt loop. I'm not gonna geek out and wear this case; I bought it to keep in my laptop bag or carry-on luggage while traveling. I guess it's nice to have these options if you're gonna do outdoorsy stuff or adventure travel, however.
While shopping for cases online, it wasn't that easy to figure out which one would best fit my drive. Interior measurements of cases (and exterior specs of drives -- I shopped for both at the same time) aren't always clear and uniform on shopping and manufacturer websites. Even with the velcro strap as snug as possible, my drive slides around inside a little. There's also about an inch of extra interior length space, but I guess case manufacturers aren't keeping up 100% with the latest compact hard drives. I use a cloth wrapped around the drive to help keep it in place. Not a perfect fit, but I can live with it.

But it does not fit the Lacie Portable Rugged, even though it was listed in the accessories for that product.

My wife has hundreds of baby pictures of our twins. We use the Seagate FreeAgent Go for backup. I like to keep the drive in my office in case of fire at home. And this case gives the drive some nice protection when it rides in my briefcase.
