The 8-Outlet Surge Protector with Remote Switch from Belkin is an 8-outlet power strip with surge protection and remote control capabilities. I'm using the 8-Outlet Surge Protector with Remote Switch to turn on and off lights in my yard. I needed some thing dependable. Some thing that would stay on while doing things at night. Motion Detectors have never seemed to be dependable for me.
Change in temperature, wind, etc., would change there function. Even though it is not water proof it works fine. The signal works from inside the house to inside the garage and has never failed to work as expected. I'm sure I will find other uses as time goes by. A very good buy I think.

The remote switch can be "hidden" behind furniture or such to be used for powering your webcam or homemade security system on/off when you enter/leave your home. Works great!
